F-250 Lariat 6.4L

Third time I've had brakes issues with the F250. First time the rear calipers were red hot extended warranty repaired that. Then a month later the right rear caliper was red hot again. Extended warranty didn't cover it as it was already repaired once. I bought one with life time warranty from Autozone and fixed it myself. So far no problems, knock on woody..

Now today the left front caliper was red hot. What the hell is going on Ford, recall these sons of bitches and let people feel safe in their 45K dollar rig... Give me a break! Now I have to fight with extended warranty to see if they can cover this one, and my time isn't worth sh*t as I'm always fighting and spending time at repair shop to get this truck running safely....

Geeeez Ford do the recall and let us owners of your truck get some piece of mind....

F-250 6.4L Diesel

  • Automatic transmission
  • 69,000 miles

Driving on the interstate and attempting to get off at an exit, when I touched the brakes they grabbed hard while in the turn which made the truck almost uncontrollable! While in the turn working the steering wheel hard, the brakes released which almost sent me over the edge to the left! The brakes grabbed again while in the turn, then released and continued to do so until I was able to pull off the roadway. While the brakes were grabbing and releasing the ABS light was on and it was making the loud whining noise that lets you know it's supposed to be working.

Had to have the truck towed to the dealership at 1800, (6pm) for my non-military friends, this past Friday and I'm waiting to hear from the dealership sometime today for an answer. The worst part was I had my wife, oldest daughter and grand-daughter in the truck with me! Two years ago I had to replace the left rear caliber because it was locking up in motion which caused brake fade and a lot of smoke when I stopped. Not happy with the super duty!!

F-250 5.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 48,000 miles

I have had problems with brakes overheating first on rear axle than on front axle. I have replaced all calipers and brake pads. Jettison was in 6/2014. Now the problem is starting again on the left front brake. By the time I arrived home brake was extremely hot and smoking. Wonder if I had to drive farther would it had caught fire? Yes! Ford needs to due something about this!!

F-250 4 - WD Gas

  • Automatic transmission
  • 52,000 miles

Had new rear pads installed 1 month ago, front pads had 5MM remaining. All of a sudden, noise at front end of truck. Took in right away. Caliper on left front stuck and fried the whole system. Bid to fix is $1,020.00. Calipers on all other trucks we own have never had to be replaced. Never had this problem on a truck and I'm 63 yrs old and have owned as many as 4 trucks at a time, mostly GM. This may be my last Ford I buy for my company, if Ford doesn't step up and help with this.

F-250 Super Duty 5.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 27,000 miles

I purchased this 1 year old 2008 in 2009 F250 Super Duty with 12,000 miles on it & I have had to do brake jobs on it every year. I did the rotors & brakes @ 14,000 miles on the front. If it is not the front brakes, it's the back brakes. I even had to replace the rotors & calipers all the way arround before / at 36,400 miles & Ford would not cover it. The dealership is a dependable place where I take it. The mechanic said that Ford has the worst brake system on there trucks. He can't understand why they don't change / correct the problem. I had an 1998 Silverado Z-71 & I never replacd a caliper on it & I never even touched the rear br

akes when I sold it with over 220,000 miles on it. I would have to say that I find it hard to afford keeping up with the brake system / repair (s) of my 2008 F-250 Super Duty.
