My son was driving on the freeway, traveling approximately 83 mph, when the vehicle lost power, the engine stalled and he lost the ability to steer the vehicle properly. The vehicle was parked at nearest gas station until i could get to it. After inspecting engine, I noticed some wires that had the insulation coming off. I replaced wiring harness, and when doing so, found the main harness to be severely chafed from rubbing the under side of air filter ducts. When looking around engine bay I noticed other wires with insulation coming off too.

I own a 2006 Ford F 250, on Saturday while driving the vehicle on the highway I noticed a wet streak behind me so I pulled over and noticed gas gushing out of a hole in the tank. Fortunately I was in a rural area close to home, so I drove it the rest of the way home and parked it in a field, away from any buildings to allow the 30+ gallons of gas to drain out. The cause of the leak was one of the straps that secures the fuel tank broke (rusted in half) and the gas tank dropped down and was dragging against the highway. I attached a photo of the strap that broke

Fikm, injectors, glo plugs, ipr, harmonic balancer, prv low oil pump, high oil pump, fuel filters all replaced between 277,000 and 290,000 miles ( 1st time on injectors and glo plugs at 277,000 miles on a 6.0L 2006 Super Duty diesel)due to lack of power during acceleration between 65 and 75 mph more than once! spent more than $3,000 to date to correct this issue and nothing has worked! Ford has some explaining to do, and it has baffled even one or more of their best mechanics, as well as the tow truck person that had to tow it at 10:00 pm this past week! now who is responsible"???" we have owned this truck from new status to present and yes 290,000 miles on a 6.0L diesel 2006..surprise! the vehicle was in motion when this issue happened.... on both city streets and interstates, and in the driveway with emer. Brake on and acceleration up to 2000 RPM's and it chugs and spits and sputters and then dies and won't restart until the next day! I can provide you several receipts, but I am not putting them online for all to view VIN numbers, etc. Any information will be greatly appreciated! all this trouble has gone on since April of 2016 to present. My truck is a work vehicle and has been a good one until now and has travelled well for 10 years old and 290,000 miles. I am currently stuck in Georgia trying to fix this issue.

Truck stalled at intersection. Complete power outage, no brakes, etc. Manages to restart. Problem recurred two additional times. I limped to a local mechanic shop who scanned the engine codes. He told me it was the throttle body and charged me $550 to replace it. Truck had 47,000 on it at the time. In my opinion this part should last well into the 100,000 mile mark.

The truck was on a major interstate (I-81 near blacksburg exit 118A, B, C) driving uphill. While trying to merge into the right lane from the middle lane, while letting of the accelerator the engine dies. At this point lost all power including brakes and steering control. Since there was no traffic immediately behind the truck then was able to pull over to the first lane and get off the shoulder. The truck died and fortunately due to low traffic able to maneuver to the shoulder. At that point, tried to start the truck and it would not start so had to remain on the side of interstate until help could arrive. Stranded on the side of the interstate. Truck was towed to dealership. Ford blogs indicate there is a known problem that has gone unaddressed.

Smelled something as traveling down the road at 55 mph. Stop the vehicle along side the road. Checked the trailer. Came back to the truck and smoke was rolling out of the dash vents, right rear passenger side of the hood was burning the paint, then flames came out from uner the hood.
