2005 Ford F-250SD pick up temporarily loses power steering at low speeds-in parking lots, the drive way. But at higher speeds there is no problem. The front u joints, tie rod ends, ball joints are ok. Had the gear bench tested and no problem found. Have hit a dead end but am working on it!
Update from Apr 21, 2010: turned out to be the gear after all. It had a flat spot and would bind every time it hit that spot!
