Five acquaintences have had their Ford F250 trannys go out.... usually 2nd gear. Apparently Ford manufactures an intermediate sprag that is not heavy duty enough to hold up under normal driving conditions. Aftermarket parts are heavy duty to address the problem. For what the lousy truck cost... Ford should be repairing the trannys as it is a definite defect in workmanship. Their engineers are lousy. FORD: Why not test your junk before offering it to the public. Also, the center seat folds up (for convenience)... but when it's in the down position, everything on the seat falls into the back seat. If that isn't idiotic design, I don't know what is.
