The contact owns a 1999 Ford F250. While driving at any speed, the vehicle began to shake and then shut off. The contact also noticed that smoke would appear from the gas tank when fuel was placed in the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and they stated that the fuel line needed to be replaced. The failure still persists. The current and failure mileages were 187,821. Updated 9/1/09
After filling the vehicle with gas, the gas gauge was half full, then almost empty. After noticing the gas gauge the consumer pulled off to the side of the road. A state trooper noticed gas on the ground. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who stated there was a leak in the gas line.
