I simply pulled out of the driveway heard a loud pop the truck started missing very bad. Looked under the hood to find the #4 plug had blown out. If it had hit the fuel rail very hard my mechanic said it could had ruptured and caused a fire. After looking online I found this a flaw in motor head design by Ford may truck is now in the shop. This is my second time this has happened in 8 weeks.
Began to hear a slight ticking of what appeared to be a slight exhaust leak. Within a matter of a minute or two it got loud, then there was a pop. The rear spark plug on the passenger side blew completely out of the motor. I pulled over and was in need of a tow. The mechanic had to put some sort of insert in the head to fix the hole.
On the day listed below my 1999 Ford F150 with a Triton 5.4L V8 engine ejected a spark plug from the cylinder head. Upon inspection by a mechanic it was determined that the threads in the cylinder head failed. The compression in the cylinder then ejected the spark plug. After the spark plug was ejected and before I could get stopped there was a strong smell of gas in the cab of the truck. Which I assume was caused by the open cylinder and fuel being expressed through the spark plug opening.

66,400 miles and my engine is blown at a cost of $4,800, unacceptable results from an auto that is'nt supposed to be tuned up, until 100,000 miles. All regular maintenance was done.
1. the parking brake does not disengage after it is engaged. 2. the engine leaks oil between the engine block and the head on the passengers side just above the starter. The engine was replaced after going back the second time for the same problem.

Also, excessive oils useages, missing a quart within every thousand miles. Dealer notified, and informed consume rthat horn problem could not not be corrected, and oils useages was normal for that vehicle.

This vehicle has a severe lack of acceration between 3500 and 4500 rpms. I tow a 30' 5th wheel trailer and when attempting to pass another vehicle or anytime I loose power because of a hill I will step on the gas pedal for passing gear. The truck will begin to increase in speed until it gets to 3500 rpms and then looses power at once. This continues until 4500 rpms and then it seems to go into another phase and acts like it should have before by a great increase in power. I have had this to the dealer 4 times about this problem and although they admit its a problem they haven't been able to fix it. Today after the 4th try I was told that they drove a new 2000 F250 with a V10 motor and it did the same thing. Because of that they told me that it was not correctable because it is a problem that is common with this motor. Hogwash! I told them that 2 problems don't make a cure but I was informed that there was nothing more to do. This is a saftey issue because I am sure that I have caused a lot of problems behind me when I have attempted to pas or increase speed on a hill and because of this losse of power have impeaded traffic and cause uncalled for congestion. My call to Ford's cutomer service line wasn't any better that my conversation with preston Ford's service people. A lot of double talk that meant that they didn't know what to do so they punted. I would appreciate any help with this. Thank you, robert w. chalmers
The tires are dry rotting with32000miles the dome light stays on had to pull the bulb. The door lock nob on inside of door broke, the brake pad rubber on the pedal I had to replace the new one was worn out the brake pads on the front started squeaking at about 22000 miles the motor uses about one half quart of oil at each oil change and I take it to the dealer( dot number: ? tire size: LT235/85R1 )
The problem is the engine is using oil, this is a new vehicle, I am being told that this engine should use 1 quart of oil in 900 miles, I just don't believe that a new vehicle should be using this much oil. I think I'm getting the run around, it is my belief that Ford is having trouble with these new engines and they don't know what to do about it, I am not the only one with one of these new Ford trucks that is having this problem.
While driving heard loud knocking all gages registerd ok pulled over had truck towed dealership said had no, oil gages still read ok not hot, or low oil pressure, told bearing in engine failed need new engine, I have up to date maint. Records why did oil gage or water gage not register a problem befor E engine blowing up. If someone changed there own oil and did not tighten oil pan plug -oil drained out -shouldn't some sort of indicator (check engine) or gages reading abnormal come up before engine blows up please advise asap
