This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Consumer has noticed that exterior mirrors that are used for towing of vehicle are not adjusted correctly. Mirrors are suppose to show rear tires to curve, not just rear of tires. It very hard to maneuver vehicle under certain circumstances. Ford states if consumer wants to replace the defective mirrors, he has to pay for them.
Right hand exterior mirror has a regular mirror. It does not have a wide angle mirror on it. It limits vision when checking traffic, backing up or even changing lanes. The depth perception is not what it should be.
Rearview exterior mirrors extend out too far, allowing other vehicles and pedestrians to come in contact when vehicle is passing. Dealer has seen vehicle, and can replace the mirrors.
Side mirrors used for towing, extend too far out when vehicle not towing. Can not pull mirrors in or shift to different position in order for mirrors not be hit. Another vehicle had hit side mirrors. They had shattered glass onto driver's side in the process.
Rear view mirror design extends too long, resulting in oncoming truck to hit the mirror on the driver's side shattering the mirror and cracking the housing.
