1995 Ford F250 7.3L turbo diesel : cam position sensor failed after numerous, worsening experiences with erratic engine performance. Sensor replaced by dealer on 12/07/2006 with truck barely able to continue running. This corrected the problem at the time, but I am now occasionally experiencing the same symptoms again. I have subsequently discovered that this is a chronic problem with this navistar engine. Many Ford vehicles have been recalled as a result, but mine has not, despite numerous vehicles of my model year (1995) experiencing this problem.
