I started the truck. I heard a loud pop over the sound system. This was followed by a loud crackling noise over the speakers. The sound continued after the sound system was turned off. The speakers smell like they were burning.
On start, a loud "pop" was heard and the audio system went into full volume static and other sounds. Radio could not control it, on/off or volume, nothing would stop it. sound was deafening and lasted as long as the ignition was on. turned off ignition, yet it kept on regardelss of what I did with any interior controls. Sound was deafening and as I came to a stoplight, I could not hear the siren of an ambulance approaching from the left. I could not hear the siren due to the noise in the cabin! No way to stop the noise except after shutting down the ignition and leaving it alone for 15minutes........and it turned itself on again even after I had left the vehicle!
Truck speakers randomly emit excessively LOUD pops and static. Took in truck for service and they -??couldn-??t replicate.-?? This was at a Ford dealer in Mew York. Gave truck back. It has done it everyday since and it-??s so loud it-??s almost like I-??m in a concert. It lasts 5-10 seconds. It causes disaffections when driving as well. First time it happened I thought something broke a window. I saw many complaints posted about this through NHTSA and found online via [XXX] that Ford issued a bulletin for this fix but my service department at the local dealership didn-??t bother to fix it. This has been an ongoing issue since I purchased the truck in late 2022. This was my first attempt to have it fixed. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Upon pressing the start button the sound system put out an ear piercing pop and loud statis continued for 5 -10 minutes. Audio on/off and volume buttons were rendered ineffective, no response. Disconnected the negative on the battery with not effect. Static continued from all speakers. After 10 minutes tried to start the truckand system seemed to return to normal. Reported it to Ford Dealer said they haven't any idea what it is.
When turning on the radio, there was a very loud pop like a gunshot or firework going off in the cab followed by sustained white noise coming from the speaker system at full volume. The volume and radio buttons did not impact the volume of the sound requiring the driver to pull over, shut the vehicle off, and open the door in order to make the sound stop. The volume of the sound was loud enough that the driver was forced to release the steering wheel to plug their ears. Upon restart the vehicle produced the sound again.

The loud sound of shattered glass and of glass cracking played over the sound system. This is the second time it has happened to us. Turning off the F150 and opening the door did not help it stop. This is very scary when driving. Since it happened before, I didn-??t panic this time, but it is a reoccurring problem that could contribute to an accident.
2022 Ford F-150 tremor owner with B&O Unleashed sound system. Yesterday 8/22/2023 when starting my truck I experienced a loud big boom followed by loud static and popping sounds which was varying in pinch and level for all speakers. I could not turn off the audio or turn down the audio. I turned off the truck and it continued to make the same noises for some time before stopping on its own. I had to drive for over 30 minutes with this going on in order to get home. I eventually got back into the truck later on and started the truck with the issue resolved and back to normal operations for now. I have also had multiple issues since the purchase of the truck in July 2022 of when attempting to roll up my automatic windows and they keep reopening on there own. Sometimes it takes two or three tries to keep the window up.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact stated that after starting the vehicle, the sound system started making an abnormal popping sound, and then a loud static sound was bouncing from speaker to speaker. The contact turned the volume down however, the static and popping sound continued. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 7,658.
Component: Stereo + Speakers I was put at risk because of the extremely loud sound coming from the speakers that I could not control. I was unable to hear traffic around me or concentrate on driving. It startled me so much I almost swerved into traffic. It was inspected by the manufacturer and they performed a reprogramming of the (audio controller?). There were no other warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms prior to the problem. It first appeared after owning the vehicle for 6 months. Details of incidents: I have had this happen 6 times: Turn on vehicle. Explosive POP comes from the speakers followed by no sound. Volume controls are unresponsive. No audio plays. After 15-20 seconds, the audio returns and volume controls are responsive again. I have had this happen 2 times: Turn on vehicle. Explosive POP comes from the speakers followed by continual max volume static. Volume controls are unresponsive. Restarting the vehicle does not fix the problem. Static continues for up to 40 minutes. Once vehicle was turned off for more than a few minutes, the problem stopped and audio returned to normal.
The following occurred in a 2022 Ford F150 Raptor with less than 500 miles. As soon as I put the car in drive and turned out of the parking lot, there was a huge boom that sounded like an explosion. I assumed that something had burst or all of my glass was shattered and the sound of loud crackling noises could be heard coming from the speakers. After the explosion-like sound, I was unable to hear for some time and I nearly went deaf. Regardless of whether I turned the audio on or off, the loud crackling noise would not go away. without delay The service manager afterwards contacted me and told me that the sound system needed to be reconfigured after I drove to the dealer to demonstrate the problem.
while driving, with the audio system off, suddenly I heard a loud explosion. next I heard what sounded like class breaking. I thought i was involved in an accident and slammed on my brakes. Realizing I was ok, the next thought that came to mind was that someone shot at me. The crackling sounds ( like glass breaking did not stop). i drive directly to a ford dealership. they heard and acknowledged the cracking sound. i turned off the truck and the sound CONTINUED.
Deafening sound, speaker pop and random static/buzz sound coming through speakers at random times to include forward /reverse driving, changing gears etc.
Loud pop and then extremely loud static coming through all speakers, pulled over turned truck off and noise continued. Unable to drive because noise was so loud. Started truck again and turned off multiple times, turned radio on and off multiple times and noise continued. With truck off doors closed and locked noise continued. After about 15 min it stopped and worked normal. I called dealer and they said they don-??t have a fix and if it is currently working normal there-??s nothing they can do.
I was driving down the highway and a loud pop followed by a very high pitched static noise came out of my speakers. I had to unhook a battery terminal to get it to stop. This is the 3rd time this has happened and the dealership won-??t do anything as it-??s extremely difficult to replicate.
Vehicle B&O Unleashed sound system makes seemingly random BOOMs at full volume (>1000watt system) then a crackling and static sound as well. This is a health risk as my ears hurt 2 days afterward and were ringing no less than 2 hours. This is a safety risk as it seems like gunshots and I was panicked and almost wrecked. Others on forums have wrecked. Here is a description of the -??event-?? this Saturday 5/6/23 Start truck, tiny popping sound, think little of it. Drive about 2 minutes then BOOM BOOM BOOM three speaker max volume blasts, then tweeters start to crackle and give that constant -??static-?? sound. All tweeters continued for minutes. (video in middle of this) I stopped at a light, turned truck off and turned back on-?? no change sounds continue. Stopped at another light, turned truck off, opened door, then turned back on. The static stopped but crackles continued, upon restart static and crackles both continue. What was curious is that as I sped up the volume increased and decreased slightly when I slowed down, which is in line with the variable speed settings. I thought that was peculiar as it indicates some of the settings are still sending normal signals. Stopped, turned off truck, got out and closed door, and fifteen seconds later all sounds finally stopped (have video of this but too much data for NHTSA online portal system).
When starting the car there was a loud audio pop that transitioned into a deafening static sound that I could not stop. I had to drive 80 minutes to the dealer with the windows down so I didn-??t end up with hearing damage. The stereo could not be turned down or off. The volume knob would turn but the level showed as though it were turned off. After 80 minutes of it my ears were ringing and still are. The dealer tells me I need some replacement -??radio-?? module as they were unable to make the sound stop and leave the car safe to drive.
My 2022 F-150 4x4 Platinum Supercrew Powerboost full hybrid, about 11,500 miles, had no issues until about 6:30 PM 4/11/23, when I started the truck as normal. Immediately, a very loud explosion sound occurred followed by loud "sparks and crackles". The sound was painfully loud, but after 5-10 seconds the sound ended. Thereafter, the the audio system was unable to produce any sound in any app (audio, nav, phone, etc). In audio, the volume was shown as zero on the screen and continued to show zero on turning of the volume knob. Turning the audio system on and off and turning the vehicle on and off did not alter the problem; volume remained zero and the car was silent in all modes. Later that night, a couple hours after shutting the vehicle off, I restarted the vehicle and the audio was normal. This is dangerous and unacceptable.
