Undetermined what part failed I believe maybe an update. The truck lost all power and began to shift to neutral position at 40 mph on the highway. I was forced to get on the axis road. The contact owns a 2024 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while her wife was driving at an undisclosed speed, upon coming to a complete stop at a stop light, the vehicle inadvertently stalled and initially failed to restart. The contact stated that after approximately 10 minutes the vehicle independently restarted. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to duplicate the failure or determine the cause of the failure. The contact was informed that no DTC codes had been retrieved. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 6,000.
Upon acceleration to highway speeds, the vehicle motor bogged down and started to shake the engine bay. White smoke started coming out of the exhaust and a very prominent rattle came from engine bay which did not subside.
