Some 2021 F-150 vehicles equipped with power running boards (PRB) may exhibit a running board that deploys after exiting and locking the vehicle, remain deployed when the key fob is stored in or near the vehicle or becoming out of sequence with one up and one down and/or DTCs C1008 or C1009. This may be the result of driver seat module (DSM) software. To correct this condition, reprogram the DSM using the latest level of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS). Make sure you are connected to the internet when entering module programming to obtain the latest updates.
