- Summary
- Some 2021 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 3.5L PowerBoost engine may experience an Motor Coolant Over Temperature message in the instrument panel cluster (IPC), along with a stand-alone diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0A2F stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to software parameters in the PCM. Ford is working on an update that is expected via over the air (OTA) in late August 2021. The software will update automatically if Vehicle Connectivity is turned ON. Inform the customer that powertrain durability is not affected and they can continue to drive the vehicle. Contact the customer in September to determine if they received the update. If the customer needs assistance, schedule a follow-up appointment. Monitor OASIS for updates.
