In some affected vehicles, it may be possible fo the Powertrain Control Module to enter a non-recoverable reset condition at key-on when the software detects a low oil level AND the oil life remaining is between 5-20%. When the PCM is in the reset condition, the driver may experience a condition whe the engine will not attempt to turn on when the driver turns the key or presses the "engine start" button.
