The contact owns a 2020 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle inadvertently lost all motive power, after which the contact became aware that the gear selector was stuck in the drive position. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who was unable to diagnose the failure but informed the contact that the transmission control module had been reprogrammed. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer an additional five times, with the dealer not being able to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 17,000.

2020 Ford F-150. Consumer writes in regard to issues with the transmission. The consumer stated the vehicle shifted hard with a bang and jerk. The dealer was notified and stated the vehicle was operating as designed.

Clutch went out in automatic truck causing transmission to overheat and fail. Lost reverse while driving and truck would slam into every gear when accelerating or downshifting. Only 18,000 miles on truck. Truck was brought into Ford back in Jan 2021 and they replaced the main brain to the transmission and transmission overheated and failed by March 2021. Vehicle was in motion on highway when failure happened.
