The exhaust system of my new truck (7000 miles) is showing advanced signs of corrosion on the undersides of both the catalytic converter and the muffler while the pipe hangers are rusted. The weep holes on each are also spewing an excessive amount of steam/exhaust. With mention of this at the first oil change, the Ford service center claimed that it looked new. I assure you that it does not look new, I expect to have to replace the exhaust system much sooner. My last truck, 2006 F150, driven in the same conditions did not need to be replaced even after 165,000 miles. What has happened to Ford's stainless steel exhaust systems?
Update from Apr 13, 2021: I mistook the “front pipe†for a catalytic converter. It is similar to a resonator.
