The contact owns a 2020 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 25 MPH, there was an abnormal clunking sound coming from the rear of the vehicle. Additionally, the contact stated while reversing, the failure recurred, and the rear end of the vehicle responded forcefully. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring while driving and while reversing. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The contact related the failure to an unknown recall pertaining to the rear axle hub bolt being fractured. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 134,000.
