Heading out on a vacation, truck loaded (nothing heavy and not towing). Over hill and dale, out in the middle of nowhere transmission starts slipping (high revving and not engaging) really badly. I look in rear view and see smoke. Pull over and look underneath and transmission fluid is spewing all over. No cell signal, but fortunately there was a call box and I was able to get a tow to the dealer from there. Turns out for a while(?), Ford was using RTV instead of a real gasket and this did not hold. Problem resolved. Temporarily.
