I have been having this same rough idle and shutting down problem for over a year now. It happened several times pulling a 4,500 lb. trailer. Finally, the check engine light came on a month ago. (Code P0022) I took the truck to the dealer and was told that it was a bad cam phaser. It was covered by the extended warranty, if it was not covered it would cost $4,000 for this repair. It has been just over a week and the rough idle is gone and the truck has not stalled. It does appear that this problem is fixed for now. According to the Ford mechanic this is a known problem, they know that the cam phasers have a defect and are not willing to fix it until it stops the truck from running.
