Vibration throughout the cabin between 54-60mph as we left the dealership. Brought it back a few days later and the service manager drove the truck with me and agreed that "there was defiantly an issue that needs to be addressed". so I set up an appointment for the following week to drop the truck off. I dropped the truck off the following week. I got a call from the service manager (same one that drove the truck) and he asked if there was a level kit installed since he drove the truck last week. I replied yes, but that has nothing to do with the drivetrain vibration! he then stated that they will not look at this as a warranty issue anymore and would charge me (even though the problem occurred 100' after I left the parking lot with my brand new truck and the fact that he drove it and agreed there is defiantly an issue (that day!) I left and won't be back. Long story as short, I looked deep into this and found thousands of trucks with the same exact issue (2015-2020) and no fix from Ford yet: Road force balance tires, no. Re-balance driveshaft, no. Replace rear axle, no. Replace driveshaft, no. Replace all rims, no. Wheel bearings, no. Brake components, no. Rear diff ring, no. Driveshaft carrier, no. Rear diff shims, no. 4-wheel alignment, no. U-joints, no. Replace all tires, no. Replace rear shocks, no. Pinon angle, no. Front drive shafts, no. Front diff, no. Shim pinion gear, no. Torque convertor, no. Trans valve body, no. Ring & pinion gears, no. This has been an issue since 2015. No recall. No tsb. Laughable.
When the vehicle is in motion and shifting from 3-4 or downshifting from 5-4 there can be a significant jerkiness or shudder. Also, occasionally when downshifting from 10 to a lower gear there is a significant jerk. We have at times thought we were rear ended as the truck really lurched. These events happen sporadically. The truck has approximately 30K miles and the transmission has been reflashed. The dealership says this is a common problem and there is nothing they can do and hoping Ford will issue a fix. We are nervous driving the truck as this may happen at anytime and could create a situation where we over react with detrimental consequences. Note, this is a random occurrence and not limited to one event. I selected the date as a placeholder.
Vehicle shuts down. I was waiting in line of traffic for the traffic light to turn green. Motor stops, lights go out. Placed in neutral and tried to restart, would not start until after 3 - 4 minutes.
Transmission has issues with hard shifts from the 3-4 and the 4-5 up shifts and downshifts. It has almost caused me to lurch forward into another car. The issue has also caused times where the transmission was unable to find a gear and it would lose power until it chose one and jerked the whole truck forward.
Upon starting the drive shaft is being twisted, causing a loud crack\bang from the joints. This noise\complaint is consistent with numerous tsb's and Illinois class action law suit concerning these defective 10 speed transmissions. Further, both at a stop, shifting fwd.\rev. And operating at low speeds (maneuvering in parking lots) there is a definite clunk in the rear end as you accelerate \ decelerate; this coming from the rear differential yoke\joint. This problem has\is occurring since purchase, 03\2020 and is becoming more frequent. As of 10\07\2020 the truck has 10,000 miles.

I purchased a left over 2019 in June 2020. The vehicle has been back twice for transmission issues to the dealership. I was told that I have to live with it from a service advisor. The vehicle's powertrain is jerky when slowing down. It feels like a kick when is goes from gear to gear up or down shifting. There is also a loud bang upon start up. I video taped it, the drive shaft twist upon start up. Seems unsafe if the drive pin is the only thing hold a 7000 lbs vehicle or if you start in neutral. Overall the PCM needs new transmission strategy applied. Very poor on Ford's behalf.
From 4th to 10th gear the transmission is hunting / surging. This is worse in a downshift from 10th to 9th and from 9th to 8th. It is extremely aggravating to purchase a new vehicle and have so many problems. The dealership says it is the transmission acting different to my driving style because it is adapted to how my wife drives. That's a terrible excuse for all Ford employees to use because Ford hasn't given them a clear answer. This design flaw should be rectified. This is the dream truck my wife and I have always wanted. We decided to spend a little more than we should have to get what we wanted and we have been entirely let down. Please fix this, Ford. Do the right thing.
I bought new in June 2019 the following month the transmission upshifts downshifts extremely harsh from gears 3,4,5,6 transmission also over revs like clutch is held in when upshifting. Vehicle will drop down 5 gears from highway speeds. When coming to stops it sometimes lurches forward fast almost rear ending cars multiple times. It has been reprogrammed, serviced multiple times, transmission valve body was replaced and still to this day problem getting worse. My Ford shop put a flight recorder in and verified all the issues. Waiting for Ford engineers to fix this issue. 2 other issues that started almost day one was rear differential leaked, four wheel drive solenoids replaced along with 4X4 wheel hubs. My Ford mechanics are great but it's Ford moco that is the issue. My Ford repair shop is waiting for them to provide a solution. I don't hall or tow anything in this truck. It's used like a car.
I recently just purchased my 2019 Ford F150 with the 10 speed transmission. Ever since I bought this truck the transmission has been making this clunking sound and jerks very hard. These trucks are very expensive to have them clunk and shift hard and jerk. Ford needs to find a solution to fix these issues with this transmission. It also lurches when its downshifting which could potentially cause an accident.
High amplitude vibration at various speeds. Most noticeable between 50 and 70mph. I complained about it to the dealership and they determined the ring and pinion gears needed replacing at 4200 miles. Vibration persisted, so I took it back and they tried roadforce balancing the wheels/tires and checking for runout. This did not fix the problem either. Then they tried replacing wheels and tires all together, still with no success.
The truck is 3.5 eco boost with the 10R80 transmission with 3.55 gears. The truck has a bad vibration at highway speeds that varies in severity depending on load in the bed. Downshifts at highway speeds are violent and unpredictable.
Brand new truck experiencing rough downshifting while approaching normal stops. Also upon beginning acceleration, gears may seem to slip and rev, similar to clutch being applied and engine revving, then catches a gear and lurches forward. On numerous occasions at end of backing up and shifting to drive, felt and heard a loud 'clunk' in rear differential area. Never had a vehicle do any of this. Called Ford service and he said, ' you've never had a 10 speed transmission, have you'. of course not, it is new technology.
I have been reading about the Ford F150 transmission issues and I believe my truck also has the issues of hesitation in shifting, thought I was imagining things but it has been going on since I bought the truck 3 months ago.
Transmission fluid leak two times driving on the highway. Transmission was previously replaced for a front pump noise at 500 kms. Truck has 11,000 kms on it towed in twice.
10R80 10-speed automatic transmission / driveshaft makes loud bang or clunk noise when first starting the engine.the clunking noise continues when you accelerate (light or heavy) and take your foot off throttle the clucks/ bangs are so strong you feel like someone reared you. The automatic transmission jerks and slipped when shifting gears up or down. When city driving transmission / driveshaft clucks/ bangs more because of stop and go. On the highway transmission downshifts and up shifts for no reason and 4 to 6 second delay in throttle response. Have had it to dealership 5 times. First time dealer reset tcm program to "relearn"shifts. Didn't fix problem. Second time checked grease in yolk. Grease full. Still not fixed. 3rd, 4th, and 5th time dealership called Ford "hotline" for repair or fix. No call back or fix from Ford to date.
Transmission shifts sometimes with really bad harsh jerks. At speeds below 50mph most of the time when pulling my boat trailer. This has happened several times in the last several months.
This has happened 3 times. While traveling on the freeway the truck goes into neutral and won't shift into gear I have to coast to the side of the road and re-start the vehicle and go again. This could be very dangerous traveling at high speeds on a busy freeway with no shoulder.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed the vehicle shifted gears sporadically while the vehicle shuddered without warning. The vehicle was taken to gus machado of hialeah dealer located at (1200 w 49th St, hialeah, fl 33012) where an update of the transmission control module was completed twice and an unknown part was replaced. The failure recurred and was taken back to the same dealer on three different occasions. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 200.
Transmission make a loud bang when starting vehicle. Upon acceleration at highway speeds when transmission shifts from 10th to 6th gear it it so violent it feels like I have been rear ended by another car. Sometimes transmission will have a 3-4 second delay to go into reverse and then makes a loud bang when reverse engages. Spermatic hard shifting. All these problems started at about 20,000 miles.
While driving the vehicle on a city street it started to accelerate on it's own and I had to slam on the breaks because of it doing that. Again one December 20th 2019 it did it again. I dont know what's causing it to be doing that but I've taking it to the dealership and nothing can be found wrong.
