I was driving down road and the low tire pressure light and warning came on. I pulled into a fast food restaurant. Within a few (5 or 10 minutes) the tire was completely flat. I removed the tire changing equipment and tried to loosen the lug nuts. The lug wrench supplied with the truck (I bought it new) would not fit the lug nuts. I tried to hammer it onto the lug with the lug wrench but could not engage.
I called a local tire supplier and they came out with a larger lug socket, removed the tire, and patched the tire.
Cost= $45.00 and two hours lost.
There is a metal sheet covering over the lug nut. Anytime a lug socket is used it distorts this sheet metal covering on the nut. Later on the socket cannot fit over the nut.
The tire supplier said this was a common problem with Ford products. If I was in a desolate location, I don't know what I would have done! This problem needs fixing!!!!!!!!!!!
