2018 Ford F-150
TSB Document:
Affected Component: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING
- Summary
- Some 2018 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 5.0L engine may exhibit an illuminated MIL with DTCs P0390 and/or P0394. These DTCs may be caused by low engine oil level. Before performing any diagnosis or repair, make sure the oil level is between the minimum and maximum marks on the oil level indicator. If the oil level is below the minimum mark, diagnose the low oil level concern first. Refer to the Workshop Manual, Section 303-00. If the oil level is in the normal operating range, inspect C1627. If no concerns are present, replace the bank 2 (LH) exhaust variable camshaft timing (VCT) solenoid. Do not replace camshaft position sensors for these DTCs. For claiming, use causal part 6M280 and applicable labor operations in Section 06 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual. Engineering is investigating, monitor OASIS for updates.
