The alarm system and hazards will randomly go on and will not turn off until you start vehicle and hit the hazard light button. If you hit the hazard button while the vehicle is off, it does not turn the hazards off. They will often remain flashing even if the horn/alarm system isn't blaring. At times hitting the hazard button has made the horn go off. The truck has started locking itself and keypad will not work to unlock only the key fob. Truck has not been driven at night since this has occurred to notice if its affecting the headlights. We have noticed that it is also affecting the cabin climate controls (air conditioning/heat). The source of the problem appears to be a malfunction with the Body Control Module (BCM). Prior to these issues arising, there were no warning or messages that appeared on the dash. The truck has been driving great. Now the check engine light is on and have to disconnect the battery so that it doesn't go off in the middle of the night again.

The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the headlights inadvertently flashed on and off. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the BCM and battery junction box were replaced; however, the failure recurred, and the horn inadvertently activated while driving. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where the horn was replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 62,902.

In late 2020 Ford issued recall 20C03 to correct a problem with the Daylight running lights. This entailed the reprogramming of the body control module. In so doing they made an error in the new program and inadvertently activated the parking lamps at all times when using the Daylight running lights. This is in violation of the FMVSS No. 108 (Vehicle Lighting Standards) and California Vehicle Code Section 24800 (Driving with Parking Lights). I filed a complaint with Ford Motor Co. and they have repeatedly refused to correct the issue. Now to avoid the possibility of receiving a traffic violation it is necessary to not use a safety feature and drive without Daylight running lights.

There wasnt an incident yet, but it was made a law that after may 1st, 2018, all new vehicles need rear view visibility systems. Ford made their vehicles have backup cameras, but they are faulty and stop working. Then charge consumers thousands of dollars to fix a safety issue that should be a recall, free of charge. I am filing a complaint om behalf of thousands and thousands of Ford owners. This law went into effect may 1st of 2018, According to USDOT and the National Highway Traffic safety administration. What ford is doing is wrong/unlawful and they should have to follow the law just like everyone else (even being an automobile company).

I took my truck to the Ford dealership I purchased it from because the tail lights stopped working. The service manager informed me that water was in both tail lights and had to be replaced for $3,000. My truck is a 2018, has only 18,000 miles and well taken care of and no accidents. The service claimed the water got in because of damage to the tail light. The marks he pointed out on the tail lights were very light scuff marks and could not allow water to get inside. They would not cover the replacement because of the scuff marks. I went on a Ford forum and found that there had been plenty of other 2018 (and other years) that had water in their tail lights as well. The trucks that were out of warranty just remove the tail light, drained the water, applied silicon around the seems of the tail light and had no issues since then. I've attached pictures. You'll see that there is no way water could have enter where you see scuff marks like the service manager claims. The pictures are the left and right tail lights. Ford issued recall 20C03 (NHTSA 20V-097) to correct an issue with the intensity of the daylight running lights on certain F150 trucks. Without informing the customer the reprogramming of the body control module also now activates the parking lights whenever the daylight running lights are activated. In California, vehicle code section 24800 prohibits the activation of the parking lights in conjunction with the daylight running lights while driving. I filed a complaint with Ford Motor Co., and their response was they have no intention of fixing this. That they don't care what California law says. I spoke with the local California highway patrol office and they confirmed I could be issued a citation for this infraction. Now the only recourse is to always drive with the daylight running lights off so the parking lights are not activated with them while driving. The work was performed on 10/27/2020 by the local Ford dealer.

Had recall done for daytime running lights issue now when daytime running lights are activated tail lights, license plate lights and front parking lights also are activated. Dealer cannot reprogram to turn off tail lights plate lights and parking lights. I feel having tail lights on constantly may cause people behind you to think I am breaking. Do not see many if any vehicles with tail lights on during day light hours

I have reached out to the dealer several times to book an appointment for last two recalls. The dealer is not able to provide a time slot that I can drop my truck for recall repairs. The dealer does not have a back up rental car that I can load during my drop off time as I need to commute to work about 40 miles away everyday.

The headlights on this vehicle seem to perform marginally at best. Under ideal conditions they seem barely adequate. When it is raining and the road surface darkens or snowing and there is road grime covering them they are dangerous. I have owned over 65 different vehicles and this vehicle is among the worst under less than ideal circumstances.

The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the driver's side headlight was cracked from the inside. As a result, only one headlight was functional. The contact had difficulty driving at night because one light was dimmer than the other. The vehicle was driven to ancira Ford (501 10th St, floresville, tx 78114, (830) 216-4040) to be diagnosed, but they did not know how to repair the internal crack. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the failure was a stress mark, and that the contact would have to pay for the repair. The failure mileage was 1,900.

The headlights, reg beams, not highlights, are really dim at night when driving in extreme rain on the highway. It is hard to see what land you are in and very hard to see in general. It is as if I am driving without lights on. I have had 20 cars including other mfg trucks and never have had this problem. It is a major safety issue when driving in rain on the freeway.

On straightaway, and particularly sides of the road (not to mention on curves), the headlights do not allow the driver to safely see obstacles in or entering the road (wildlife). A standard should be set that increases the effectiveness of night driving light in both low and high beam applications. Luckily breaking has been improved and is probably a big reason this issue in not brought forward more often.

While driving at night on May 22, 2018, a 2018 Ford Super Duty was behind me. The front lights were super bright, too much and distracting. I flipped my rearview mirror to reduce the glare but, come on, it didn't really help. Side mirrors don't dim, do they? while stopped at a traffic light, I held my hand over the center rearview mirror. The lights are too much. Please get a handle on this growing problem.
