I-??ve been having whistling/rattling in my truck for the last couple of weeks. Tried to make an appointment with my local dealer for the Cam phaser CSP out by Ford for 2018, and other, year models with this issue among other transmission/powertrain issues/problems/defects. I was at a stop light with a red light and waiting for my green left turn arrow. Left turn arrow turned green and I stepped on the gas; my RPMs skyrocketed, stayed in gear 2, and was traveling between 5-10 mph. After roughly 100ft, the transmission switched gears from 2 to 6th gear and the turbos kicked in and I ended up slamming my head in to my steering wheel. This was the last/final straw. The engine has been questionable at best the last couple months and this was the first time I-??ve felt like I am no longer driving the safe, reliable vehicle I thought I had purchase. I have a service appointment scheduled with one of my local dealerships. I hope they fix this issue because if they don-??t/these life endangering transmission/powertrain issues persist I will be hiring a lawyer and fighting for lemon law.

When shifting into 4th gear the vehicle will shift roughly almost as a brake tap before automatically increasing on its own to 25-28mph. This even occurs with speed control on. All of this occurs while in motion on city streets and entering highways. This has been occurring for the past 8 months. Every time the vehicle is in motion.

When starting my F-150 there's was a loud pop I suddenly turned off the vehicle then turned it on again but it did not make any odd noises. When pulling out of the parking lot acceleration was acting up O heard another pop and my vehicle suddenly went into limp mode slowing my vehicle way down causing me to nearly get rear ended. From there I managed to coast into a parking lot and called a tow truck. When the tow truck dropped off the vehicle the guy at the dealership said that I was acting fine but they would keep it a couple days but since it isn't acting up there wasn't much they could do. The truck is a year old and only has 5.300 miles.

The first time the acceleration on my F150 stuck, I was on a country road. I was braking on a down hill to a stop sign. I made sure I was not double peddling and then slamed down on the brake peddle. I had plenty of space before the stop sign and slamming the brake regained the control. I did not report this to my Ford dealer. I did not know that it would be an issue. Approximately 4 months later the truck did it again. This time I was backing up and had my foot on the brake peddle again. I did not have enough time or space to regain control and I struck a tree, which stopped the vehicle. It caused major damage to the tailgate, bumper, light assembly, and passenger side bed fender. I parked the truck and walked away for several hours. When my husband went to move the truck, the brake peddle sank straight to the floor, like there was a lot of brake peddle movement and no brake pressure. I do not believe the gas peddle was sticking, more like the computer was accelerating when the gas was not engaged. My Ford dealership ran diagnostics that day and it had no code issues. Ford legal retained the truck and ran diagnostics again 3 months later and again no codes. Still do not have an answer to what caused the acceleration issue. Ford said there was no issue with the braking system. I would very much like to know if there has been similar occurrences with other 2018 F150's.

While driving down interstate 10, my transmission abruptly downshifted to 1 at ~55 mph!! this was the worst of several instances of the transmission either failing to shift properly or jerking the vehicle when shifting gears. I've also had the vehicle stuck in 2nd gear while trying to enter the freeway. The dealership and Ford Motor Company show no concern as they rely on service codes instead of road tests and customer input. I hope I'm able to get another vehicle from a manufacturer I can trust. It's unfortunate because I have owned Ford F-150S for the past 6 years and driven them since high school. This new 10-speed transmission should've never been released to the public. I see others are having the same issue so hopefully a class action lawsuit is soon to follow!

2,363 miles on the truck it downshifted on the hwy from 80 mph to 20 mph on its own, with a loud noise. Had to get in the slow lane so not to have a wreck. It is equipped with auto start, where the truck engine automatically stops at a stop sign or light and restarts on its own. The trucked shut itself off while in traffic and had to be put in park and restarted, almost causing a wreck. Took the truck back to the dealer again, when it made a loud noise and felt like we hit something when going 55 mph, the truck jolted we again got in the slow lane. Then when sitting in the driveway the motor started racing on its own not touching the excelerator. Had to turn off truck. We are afraid to take our grandkids in our new 2018 truck we are paying dearly for. The last time we took the truck to the dealer, they said there was nothing wrong with it. We are about to retire and wanted this truck to be our last, we have not even had it a year. We have done some checking online, we are not the only ones experiencing these types of problems.

Danger!! potential extreme injury or death possible. These issues must be addressed by Ford. Vehicle speed control:engine accelerating on its own when in reverse. Braking: Would slow down but will accelerate when brake was released upon reverse. Upon reversing up an uphill local side street driveway, braking, and releasing the brake, the vehicle accelerated in less than one second at a tremendous speed. When the vehicle was put into drive from reverse, the engine created a high-pitched whining sound. Had there been the children in the driveway, they would have been killed. There is also a whining sound from the engine when it is running. Changing gear from reverse to drive: Engine creates a high-pitched whining sound reverse up a slight hill: Reversing up a small hill immensely accelerates on its own. We notified the dealership when we received the vehicle, but it was not corrected.

February 28, 2019 started to pass another vehicle on the highway and my 2018 F150 stx just kept on accelerating on its own, I applied brakes and it would slow down but as soon as I stopped braking it started to accelerate again, it did this several times during braking, I finally had to turn the ignition off and pull over. I restarted the vehicle and the accelerator raced up again, I shut it off again and let it sit for a few minutes to reset to default. It was ok after that and has not happened since but I am waiting for the next event. This is a major safety hazard and should be investigated. Called hallada Ford in dodgeville wi. To let them know and there response was they were unaware of the problem, don't think I believe that!!

While driving on a city street the accelerator on my Ford F-150 began to accelerate on its own. I pressed the brake pedal to slow down but it only accelerated at a higher rate. I was able to put the shifter in neutral and pull over to a safe area, with the vehicle in neutral and my foot on the brake pedal the truck would continue to accelerate. I had the vehicle towed to the dealership because I was afraid to drive it, now the service department is saying that they cannot duplicate the problem when there obviously is a problem.

Engine revs up on it own: When driving at a speed ~ 10 mph down my graveled 600 feet driveway, the engine revs up, exceeding 6000 RPM. This has occurred on 5 occasions, twice in November and three times in December, latest being 12/24/2018. I had the vehicle less than 5 months with 3300 miles on it. I noted when it occurs, it's when the vehicle is first started up. The rear tires dig in and start spinning, throwing gravel. Pressing the brake and coming to a complete stop lower the RPM and settle the engine down. This could be a accident waiting to happen in highway or busy city traffic. I've noted on carcomplaints.com, several Ford F150 owners have this problem.

I have had two run away full accelerations in this new truck. I accelerated firmly and the accelerator refused to disengage. At over 90 mphm I put the car in neutral, the RPM increased and I shut off the key. Next time in the same drive it happened again and I immediately shut off the key. I will notify my dealer tomorrow. I will not drive in this vehicle again. As an experienced commercial Pilot I have been trained how to deal with this issue but the public has no clue what to do.

I was headed home from work and my truck was stationary stopped at a stop light, and the automatic engine stop was active, with sync networked. A vehicle from behind ran into my 3 week old vehicle. The engine automatic start-stop sync started, and the engine raced to very high rpms. Throwing my head back into the headrest again. I had to press really hard upon the brakes to prevent my vehicle from slamming into the car ahead of me. At that moment my mind thought of the Toyota Camry acceleration problem years ago, and upon the vehicle returning to normal idle rpms, I double checked that my foot was actually on the brake. My foot was actually on the brake.
