The 10 speed transmission in this truck does not shift right. It shifts very hard sometimes not shifting at all. It shifts hard enough to cause whiplash. Also the doors when it is cold out do not latch causing the door to remain open. My child almost fell out of my vehicle luckily she had her seat belt

Transmission shifts are delayed and sometimes harsh. When making turns from a dead stop on paved street, the transmission shutters or bucks (excessive play in the drive system, a gummed up valve body, old trans fluid or sticking valve body pistons?)

F150 XLT 4X4 3.5L V6 10 speed auto 56,000 mi. When starting to drive cold, moderate acceleration will cause hesitation and missed shifting from 3rd to 4th gear. It causes a hard shift when it finally occurs, with a distinct "clunk", which cannot be good for transmission or rear end. Safety issue if unable to accelerate to speed when needed on highway ramps. This has occurred for the last 20,000 miles or so.

Transmission shifts very bad, cold. Hesitates, and shifts late.warm, it will not shift when throttle is pushed after releasing throttle immediately before reaccelerating. Left front door freezes bad in cold weather, twice in two days now, takes 15-20 minutes before it will stay latched. No other doors are affected. Serious problem because the door may open while driving.recalls on this problem on other years. Very dangerous.

The transmission started slipping around 5000 miles. The problem occurs after start up when transmission is cool. During the first drive cycle when the transmission shifts from 3rd-4th gear, it will slip really bad. Once it does actually shift into 4th gear it feels like the vehicle has been rear ended. After multiple trips to the Ford dealership for warranty repair, the problem still exist. The last dealership I took the truck to confirmed the slip and replaced the main control in the transmission and replaced the fluid. I picked up the truck 2 weeks later and the transmission slipped when I left the the dealership after the repair. The service tech advised me to drive the vehicle for a few days to allow it to go through its adaptive learn cycle. After doing so, the transmission still continued to slip. I took the vehicle back a week later for repair. The service tech drove the vehicle and confirmed that the slip still existed. The dealership told me that they contacted Ford help hotline and were instructed to do a complete rebuild of the transmission. 3 weeks later I was told the truck was ready. I picked the truck up and drove it home with no problems. I let it sit for 24 hours and drove it again and the transmission slipped again. After two failed attempts to fix the issue, this dealership tells me that according to Ford hotline, there is nothing wrong with my truck.. the truck is doing the exact same thing now as it did before they attempted to repair it. I don't understand how the exact same problem that constitutes two separate repairs is suddenly not a problem anymore because they do not know how to fix it. So now I am a Ford customer with a faulty truck that Ford refuses to fix.

When starting my F-150 there's was a loud pop I suddenly turned off the vehicle then turned it on again but it did not make any odd noises. When pulling out of the parking lot acceleration was acting up O heard another pop and my vehicle suddenly went into limp mode slowing my vehicle way down causing me to nearly get rear ended. From there I managed to coast into a parking lot and called a tow truck. When the tow truck dropped off the vehicle the guy at the dealership said that I was acting fine but they would keep it a couple days but since it isn't acting up there wasn't much they could do. The truck is a year old and only has 5.300 miles.

Vehicle will some times hesitate during acceleration and transmission will slip - engine rpms will rise to about 2000 and then transmission will engage with a heavy clunk in the drive train. This issues has happened when engine is cold and at normal operating temp. The vehicle currently has 9000 miles on the odometer and has happened five(5) times already. Took to local dealer and they are unable to tel me what is wrong

Hard drop in gear on start up. Intermittent long delays from drive to reverse or reverse to drive. Hard gear grab in 3rd and 6th regardless of speed or load. Highway speeds when slowing the transmission hits hard when going down into 6th. On city streets both up and down shift associated with 3rd gear are hard. The clunk is enough to shake the truck.

Vehicle moving while motor not running, indicator shows park.almost acts as if it were in neutral. Truck has 9100 miles. In late October, I leaned against truck while it was in garage and rolled backwards about 5-6'. I have opened a claim with Ford, have not heard anything back from their claims department. Claim # cas-24658090-K6M8T6. I have tried contacting them with multiple attempts. Only 1 of those attempts got me to that claim number. Every time I call now, they state that my case has not been assigned to an agent yet, even after 2 weeks.

I believe there is a major problem with the transmission. Vehicle frequently makes a loud bang when started. The vehicle shudders and I feel a thud in the wheel well. It's like the clutch is failing or something? shifting gears extremely rough to the point where you're jerked around. Sometimes, to get into gear, I have to turn the truck off and re-start. Sometimes there is no power when trying to accelerate (or the truck is out of gear) from a stop which is extremely dangerous when cars are behind you or trying to accelerate merging onto the freeway. Sometimes the vehicle simply drops out of gear and 'd" (drive) is not an option. This has also happened on the freeway. I've read about a lot of owner comments that are identical to mine. Reading all these issues completely agree, this issue is extremely dangerous!

The transmission will twist the driveshaft at startup, stationary, and cause the rear end to pop very loudly. I've shown Ford engineering a video of it, I was told that it was normal. I've never heard of a vehicle doing this before. There is a rattling sound on deceleration, loudest when the engine is cold and lessons or maybe even goes away after warmed up. The engine was replaced earlier this year because of an oil consumption issue. The truck has memory power driver's seat and power mirrors that should go into place depending on the key fob that it detects. Randomly both side mirrors will start moving and popping before going back into position. This always occurs before the vehicle is started. I've noticed that it is usually when it detects the key fob or when I use the fob for some function. The seat randomly doesn't go into the memory position at startup.

Transmission was rebuilt by dealership due to transmission issues and updated with newest release Ford software update. After 2000 miles vehicle makes a hard shirt/clunking noise when down shifting from 5th to 4th gear and when driving slow has issue shifting from 1st to 2nd gear. Lots of transmission noise with this vehicle. This has been happening a lot and is not specific to any particular time such if vehicle is cold or warm.

The new 10 speed transmission gear hunts. While the vehicle is in motion (city street or highway) decelerating with the break and re-accelerating causes the transmission to gear hunt which can sometimes cause acceleration lag, and rarely causes the entire vehicle to jolt (simulating a fender bender feel). This has only happened so far while going about 30-40 mph while driving straight. I have not gone to Ford with this issue yet as there are other concerning issues with this vehicle. Also, the other customers that have reported to Ford were told this is normal. This concerns me as the other issues I have had resulted in the same answer. To add to this issue I'm not sure this qualifies as the same issue but also while switching between reverse/drive/park there can at times be a large jolt. This has happened on both flat surfaces and on slight hills. As a note the break will be fully applied and the vehicle will be at a dead stop before I make any changes in the transmission function. Thank you for your time.

On initial take off, when the truck shifts through 1st and 6th gears it seems like the engine slows to the point that I have no power and then shifts. It also feels like the transmission slips. Have been told this is normal, but it is certainly a safety concern for merging into traffic because I can't get up to speed fast enough to avoid an accident. Ford needs to address this issue because it happens on most of their ecoboost engines and the 10 speed transmission combined. This truck has the 2.7L ecoboost engine.

Transmission shifts very harshly from 1st to 3rd on takeoff. It will also clunk and jerk at times shifting from drive to reverse. Driving down highway with cruise on it will rev up from 1400 RPM to 2500rpm like its in neutral and then downshift to 8th gear an not up shift. Message will pop up on dash stating drive modes not available while driving.
