I purchased a brand new 2018 F 150. I am the original owner, and it only has approximately 16,500 miles on it. I heard a grind noise on the driver's side (L) rear wheel. I took the tire off and noticed the rotor grooved and no brake pad left. I replaced the back pads myself and had the rotor turned so the cost wasn't too bad. I originally went to the dealer to report it, but they said the brakes are only under warranty for 18 months. I don't know the reason why brake pads would fail after 16,500 miles, but I believe the master cylinder is at fault. I am the only driver to the vehicle so I know it's been driven safely. I have not towed anything, nor has it been towed.
