I periodically received a low oil pressure warning on the dash accompanied by the gauge showing no oil pressure. Confirmed good oil level and restarted and each time the warning would go away and pressure showed normal on the gauge. This happens at random times.

Additionally, there was no check engine light ever displayed, yet a trouble code is stored. When this warning pops up, the engine would go into what felt like a limp mode. Apparently, the oil pressure sending unit fails and allows oil into the sensor wiring harness which causes this to happen. I had the sending unit and harness replaced with Motorcraft replacement. No further issues.
