The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-150. While driving 30 mph, the brake pedal was depressed, but the vehicle failed to stop. The contact stated that the brake pedal felt soft. The failure occurred without warning. The vehicle was able to be stopped by repeatedly applying the brakes and using the trailer brake. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (asheville Ford Lincoln, 611 brevard rd, asheville, nc) where it was diagnosed that the master cylinder leaked internally and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was approximately 18,300.
