The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. Additionally, the contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the moon roof became inoperable. The contact attempted to engage the moon roof and became aware that the frame was fractured and failed to close properly. The dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHSTA Hotline for assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 82,000.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-150. The contact stated while pulling out of a parking lot and making a right turn, the vehicle suddenly shut off in the middle of the road. The vehicle was able to restart but lost power steering functionality. The vehicle was towed to a nearby yard. The contact then resumed driving. The contact stated that the failure recurred while driving on two other occasions, causing the vehicle to be towed. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where the vehicle restarted independently. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. Upon investigating the failure, the contact noticed that the front tires were rubbing against the coil springs housing while turning, causing the vehicle to shut off. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where the contact was advised to purchase spacers that needed to be installed between the tires and the coil springs housing to prevent the failure from recurring. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 15,000.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 65-70 MPH, the RPMs were fluctuating, the engine was overheating, and the vehicle lost motive power. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact was able to veer to the side of the road. The vehicle failed to restart and was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with catastrophic engine failure. The dealer determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they might partially cover the cost of the repair. The failure mileage was approximately 88,000.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle a popping noise was present coming from the front of the vehicle. While reversing into the driveway, the front passenger-??s side wheel suddenly detached and folded inside the wheel well. Upon inspection, the contact discovered that the front control arms had fractured and detached from the frame of the vehicle. The vehicle was not yet examined. The manufacture and local dealer were notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 158,000.
