The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the doors failed to open because the door latches were frozen. The contact stated that the doors opened in warmer weather. The vehicle was taken to wickstrom Ford (600 w northwest hwy, barrington, il 60010) where they applied grease on the doors. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred the following day. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where they informed the contact that a stronger grease would be applied to the doors. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 12,000.
F150, with below freezing temperatures the do not engage and stay closed. The just bounces off latching. This leave driver to tie door closed with rope or cords just to get to work or home. Had dealer preform 18N03 but same issue with same door exists. Dealer seems oblivious to issue despite a very large online awareness of this issue.
