F-150 XLT

  • Automatic transmission
  • 49,008 miles

I just bought my F-150 XLT on the 30th and its now January 3rd and the windshield wipers go off as if there is a sensor. There will be no rain or moisture and they just go!

When I looked up the issue it tells me to go to the touch screen (that I don't have in the truck) and just hit settings and turn the automatic wipers off.....I DONT HAVE THAT OPTION!

I read I can take the fuse out but that will stop them working all together I believe, and I live in Michigan where its snowing and salty and I need wipers to work.

Any Suggestions?

F-150 3.5L

Without any change in mechanical or driving conditions, the windshield wipers go into intermittent wipe mode when the switch is off! They cannot be shut off!

Less than 50,000 miles, and dealer serviced at all times.

F-150 XL 3.5L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 35,000 miles

According to data found on the Internet this is an ongoing problem with THIS vehicle for many years. I don't know if the suppliers just suck or Ford has poor engineers but when your wipers don't turn off when they are supposed to then the NEW wipers are ruined. I will have to make the repair myself because I'm sure Ford won't fix it for me at a reasonable cost. I will have to replace the entire turn signal, windshield washer, module. I have had more than two other FORD recall repairs and two of them did NOT fix the issue and so I have ZERO faith in Ford at this point and will never buy another Ford product again.
