Bought our F150 XLT 2.6L Ecoboost brand new on January 2nd, 2017. 50ish miles from test drives. On 1/26/17, we were driving approximately 20 mph through our neighborhood and felt a huge thump and lurch - like you get when you downshift and shouldn't... only this is an automatic engine. About 5 minutes later the check engine light came on. We realized the engine was not turning off at a complete stop like it should, and it was not shifting between gears like it should. We took to the dealership on 1/27/17. On 1/28/17, the dealer called and indicated that this is the fourth 2016 f150 with the same engine package that they've had to do a full engine replacement on, in their dealership alone. The solution is a total engine replacement, covered under standard warranty, and could take 2-3 weeks to replace. We are currently without our truck.
