Had my truck in the dealership to reprogram the adaptive cruise control (recall) and had them look at what I considered excessive condensation in the tail lights. The Service Rep stated that Ford was aware of the problem and they replaced them no questions asked. They said since it was water droplets and not condensation (fog), it was covered. I suggest that if you have the same problem to make sure it collects enough water to fill a shot glass before taking it to the dealer so they don't try to state it is normal.
Update from Sep 9, 2016: Ok. A few more months and a few more miles and experiencing the same problem with the new tail lights. No help so far from Ford and the dealer states that Ford will likely refuse to replace the lights because it is "common" for tail lights to have condensation in them. I asked the dealer if anyone else has had the issue and they stated that "you are the only one", so I guess it is not such a "common" problem then.
Update from Nov 16, 2016: Ford did replace the tail lights under warranty without hesitation. I was pleased with the corporation as well as the dealer (they were both very friendly and helpful).
I asked to inspect the old lights and the new lights during the replacement process and observed that there is a blue filter sticker over a vent hole about 1/4" to 3/8" in diameter near the top of the tail lights (this is the most likely place for water to be entering), the placement of the sticker is in a location (insert my opinion) that allows the rear tires to spin water on the lights during rain events and wet pavement conditions. I would suggest to Ford that this vent is not necessary and should be sealed from the factory using a metal back tape. LED lights have been produced for at least two decades for boat trailers and are sealed with no apparent problems related to condensation build-up or any other adverse effects.
