In one word DISAPPOINTED! I traded in my 2016 Nissan Pathfinder for a 2015 ford certified F150 3.5L EcoBoost with some 76K on it. Before I left the dealer lot I noticed a large crack in the windshield so I told the dealer about it and he said that he will have his glass guys looked at it on Monday (I bought it on a Saturday) On top of that, as my wife and I drove back home with our NEW truck we noticed a very strong smell of burning oil inside the cabin. No need to say that we were NOT happy about that especially after we spent a lot of $$$ on it.
I called the dealer on the following Monday, and told him about the burning oil smell and reminded him about the cracked windshield, he said that the burning oil smell might have been because of a recent oil change (leftover oil) and that he will talk to his boss on the windshield. I patiently waited until Derek calls me back, and after a few days I got a text from him saying "his boss said that they will take care of it" but he didn't .
A few more days have passed and I haven't heard from him, also he didn't return my calls or emails. I drove to the dealership and asked to speak the manager. Doug came in and I told him my story, he said "no problem call me on Monday and we will take care of you" I did, and the next day I got a new windshield, and as far as the burning oil smell he said that I will need to bring the vehicle in for inspection. I set up an appointment online for the first opening that they had which was about 25 days ahead.
When the day finally arrive I dropped off my car and got a nice loaner. Guess what, the burning oil smell was leak from the valve over on the passenger side, and not a leftover oil from an oil change like my dealer said. They had to replaced both valve gaskets, plus I had this weird noise coming from the front left wheel while using the brakes.
They found that the vacuum solenoid was leaking and some other issue with the 4WD gears, they said that they replaced it all under the manufacture warranty. Let just say that if the vehicle was properly inspected they would have discover all of the above before they put it on the lot for sell. Also, I had to pay $100 deductible which I wasn't happy about especially because I haven't even made my first car payment on it, and it is already broken! I forgot to mention that the rear window wasn't going down all the way, apparently there was a recall for the door locks awhile back so that might have been the reason why. The shop took care of that as well under the warranty. After I got my car back from the shop I noticed that my brakes still making noises and my USB ports doesn't work.
What I am trying to say is, please properly inspect your car's before you put them on the lot. I really didn't expected to get a lemon car with a burning oil smell, broken windshield, bad breaks, broken rear window, faulty 4WD, faulty USB ports certified FORD which was inspected by YOU.
Not so sure that FORD will be my next truck anymore....time will tell.
