The pickup would randomly die while idling either while in park and/or at a stop light and such and never gave a CEL but would start back up with no issue. In some cases it would start to run rough and seemed to be missing but would recover and other times it would not. Took it to the Ford Dealer in Dickinson, North Dakota starting in December of 2019 and up to today, 2/14/22, they still have not remedied the issue.
They have it now for a scheduled two day going to throw a bunch of parts at it and hope we fix it attempt. On my last visit I made I went to the dealership because I actually got a CEL on which they say indicated a cam phasor sensor. So that is when they decided to order up every possible part and schedule to change them out. I have never been to a Ford dealership that had mechanics that knew anything and I can list off the many I have been to. (On a side note Ford shops never have a shortage on Ford cars out front to repair.)
Anyway I asked them if they had changed out or checked the cam phasers on one of the previous visits I had made in an attempt to rule something out, and since this is a company vehicle and manage by ARI, I assume they didn't do it because they got orders not but for whatever reason this dealership did nothing other than look at it and maybe run some tests - but NEVER actually made any changes to see if they could effect the problem. I will never again go to the dealers in Dickinson North Dakota, Riverton WY, and Spearfish SD.
