Throttle body failure while driving resulting in immediate need to pull off the road as vehicle lost power and a lot of warnings lights going off. Very dangerous at Haigh speeds in traffic.

Driving 68mph with cruise control engaged, truck violently jerked. Gear indicator went to 1st and started flashing. There was no gas pedal response. The truck was just coasting. About 10 seconds later, the gear indicator went back to 6th and resumed normal operations. This seems to be the same lead frame issue earlier f150s had with this transmission but no recall has been made for the 2015-??s. This is a serious safety issue and needs to be addressed by Ford

My 2015 F-150 3.5L ecoboost experienced a sudden loss of power during highway speeds and shut off. I was in rush hour traffic and almost caused a few accidents as my truck seemed like it went into "limp mode". While my steering wheel was tight I managed to get off the road safely with no power whatsoever. My idiot lights were flashing like crazy and stated "Advance Trac Service" and "Hill Start assist not available". I let the truck sit for a bit and restarted it. It ran solid another 15 miles. Today I'm getting Advance Trac message: "Advance Trac Service" and "Hill Start assist not available", all while the engine check light remains on. I have read multiple issues similar to mine but there does not seem to be a recall for this. This is a VERY unsafe ordeal and very scary. Had my daughter been driving, this may have been an accident for sure. I see Ford "extended" the warranty to cover any issues. But I do not drive my truck that often and I find it hard to believe nothing is being done about the "throttle body" issue (from my reading). This is even happening to Ford trucks overseas. I get they do not have any say in the US, bu it does show this is a MAJOR issue.

While driving normally down the freeway the transmission on my 2015 Ford F-150 King Ranch(4x2) jumped into neutral, the "D" which was lite up orange started flashing orange to white then when white, the "wrench" light can on check engine light came on, the truck had power but when you pushed on the gas it only revved up like it was in neutral. Thankfully we were able to pull to the side of the road without getting hit, and I turn the truck off, that seemed to "reset" the trucks computer and the truck was able to go into gear, we drove it home immediately without another incident. This was the second time it happened, I thought the first time maybe I did something wrong, but it is obviously a software problem with the transmission. My son and I could have been killed, this is a serious problem that needs a recall, I have done some basic research in the past 24 hours and there are similar problems all over the Country.

The transmission lead frame failed while traveling down the road under normal driving conditions. We came to a stop and the truck revved very high on its own. My husband shut the truck off and put it in park. Afterwards it refused to start it would not even crank. We had a mechanic hook his computer to it and received 3 codes for the transmission range sensor which tells the vehicle what gear it's in. I have had several shops and a dealer tell me there's been many instances of this part failing. It's about a $2000 repair. Luckily for us this happened on a less busy road but it was still dangerous to be in the middle of an intersection unable to move. I can only imagine how bad this would have been in a busy town. I have not had the repair done at this time but will be soon.

My 2015 3.5l ecoboost had the Exhaust manifolds replaced back in 2018 when my truck had 51,909 miles on it and now at 90,000 miles the new manifolds warped and snapped off a stud bolt to which the American Fork Utah Ford Dealership said that since it was over a year ago even though it was a known issue that was covered under warranty I will have to pay out of pocket over $2,000 per manifold... this is a known issue with the manifold warping and causing exhaust leaks when the stud bolts snap off. Ford needs to recall this design flaw and pay for the fix.

the truck has been acting up for several months now. it has been throwing out strange codes when attempting to start {parking brake malfunction, oil light, power train system default, ect} and often times it WILL NOT CRANK unless we hook it up to a battery charger for just a bit of time. The truck has a new battery that was installed by autozone, where it was bought {6 months ago}. Since we were in town, we stopped by autozone to get them to attach the code reader. {power train system and ABS malfunction} while driving, later in the day, the trucks auto start/stop system turns itself on and stops the truck dead in its spot.(danger: we were pulling onto the road {fm 2100} during rush hour traffic, when the trucks system went haywire and stopped us dead in our tracks in the center of both turn lanes and two of the main lanes.) there was no restarting, nor were we able to get the gear to change into neutral in order for us to be able to move it out of the main roadway. when we were finally able to move it, we hooked a fully charged jump box {one rated for up to semi truck sized vehicles} to it to get it started, and it simply would not crank for quite a while. at this time, we took the opportunity to recheck the oil level, which was set at full. After several minutes of begging "the truck" to just start so we could just take her home, it finally cranked up and home is where we took her. the truck has 19771 original miles on it. it was drove off of the show room floor, back in 2015, with 6 miles on it, and has had absolute regular maintenance and has only had one owner.

Vehicle shifts into 6 gear on takeoff causing vehicle not to accelerate and causing vehicle to creep when I needed acceleration almost causing accident with oncoming traffic. While driving 60 miles an hour the vehicle shifts down to 2 gear. I dropped the vehicle off at the ford dealer, They diagnosed it to be the connected molded lead frame input shaft speed sensor these are not readily available with no estimate when they will receive this part. I did a search and found that there was a recall on this up to 2013. this part almost got me killed and now they can't even tell me when this will be available my vehicle has been at the dealer for almost 3 weeks waiting for this part. they are telling when they receive this part it will cost approx. $900 for the repair I feel this should be included in this safety recall this is a very dangerous defect that almost took my life.

F150 starts to lose power and shudder/vibrate about 60% of the time when driving. Picking up speed, truck lost half power and engine light starting flashing. When it caught gear and speed, the light stopped flashing but the truck continues to shudder and vibrate like crazy.

I was pulling out into the road, and the Engine cutout, then slowly came back. I did some investigation, and the truck transmission cooler lines had corroded through. Luckily I was not in heavy traffic. There had been no obvious signs of failure. I've owned numerous other vehicles while living in Northeaster NY with no major corrosion failures.

accelator stuck to the floor a couple of times when gassing it to pass other cars on the roads. The pedal would actually will stay pressed down even when my foot is off the pedal, it will speed the truck up even when pressing down hard on the brakes. when i got it to stop and cut the truck off while in park and turning the key the rpms were going absouletely nuts. looking to see if this is a common occurance. thanks in advance!

While the vehicle was running, it spontaneous entered "limp mode". The wrench light came on the instrument cluster and warned that the blind spot and rear collision systems were offline. The gear selector indicator also disappeared. After the vehicle was shut off, it would not restart for numerous attempts. When it did, it was being driven to the dealership when the same series of events occurred at a red light. Afterwards, the truck struggles to accelerate. The dealership has diagnosed a lead frame failure, which was a recall on the previous generation F150s. Based off discussions online, it seems that this is common.

The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving approximately 30-35 MPH, the vehicle downshifted and the RPM-??s increased without the vehicle accelerating. The contact then stated that the transmission inadvertently downshifted to 5th gear. The powertrain malfunction warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed and produced DTC codes: P061A, P0720, P0722. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was transferred to the NHTSA Hotline and provided a case number. The failure mileage was approximately 127,500.

My 2015 Ford F150 has 108K miles. While driving on 2/21/23, the engine started missing, several engine warning light began illuminating. I was able to pull to the shoulder and stop the engine which was missing badly. After allowing the engine to completely stop and turning the ignition off, I allowed it to settle for a moment, then I restarted the engine. I placed it in gear and attempted to drive again, but the same missing and instrument cluster faults recurred. At this point, I had it towed to Loveland Ford, in Loveland Colorado. After evaluation, I was notified the Throttle Body had failed which also caused the instrument cluster faults. Upon reading about the Throttle Body, one of the articles indicated this has been and issue for Ford F150 years 2014 -2016 produced in Dearborn and Kansas, but that Ford had voluntarily repaired vehicles with issues via extended warranty when reported. My vehicle falls in the date range and was produced in Dearborn. This is a very dangerous condition and had this occurred on a busy highway, would be a danger to me as well as other vehicles.

Driving about 40 mph, truck down shifts abruptly them the gear selections light goes out and wrench light comes on. Approximately 15 seconds later wrench light goes off and everything is normal. Milage is 128838 today at 11:33. On 2 separate instances the gear sedation light went off and the truck was stuck in the gear it was in when it happened. I did not notice it and I stopped at a stop sight so I was taking of in approximately 3 or 4th gear. These occasions it did not occur but if on coming traffic were approaching it could definitely be an issue. I have the part ordered but it is on national back order. Ford should be made to extend the recall on these electronic transmissions and be made to put an emphasis on making these parts.

While driving at posted speeds on open highway and in congested work zones, this F-150 experienced an Electronic Throttle Body failure 5 times between Rochester Hills, MI and Granger, IN on 9/13/2022. It happened again on 9/14/2022 in city two way traffic with no shoulder. In each incident, the vehicle went into limp mode with rough idle and had to be completely stopped, turned off and restarted in high traffic, hazardous stopping locations. This happened once before in the mountains in Utah, in a construction zone back on 5/02/2021. At that time, the check engine light did not stay on and Ford was unable to find a code. It did not happen again until 9/13/2022. These incidents put me and my family in danger with each episode. Ford is fully aware of this issue, has in the past and should notify owners of the potential issue and continue to make repairs available as a recall or extended warranty service issue.

One of the transmission fluid lines that runs from the transmission to the transmission cooler located in the front grill of the vehicle broke completely off and released all of the transmission fluid from the system onto the highway. This resulted in the loss of power and unstable shifting of the transmission. The line breakage was not due to impact or any damage. It broke without warning. There was no indicator light or warning on the dash showing what had happened the vehicle just started shifting erratically and power was lost. The line snapped in a bend where the line changes from steel to rubber and then back to steel. I believe this is due to a poor design that places stress on the connectors that give way over time.

Two weeks ago my 2015 Ford F150 died in a parking lot. I drove it in fine, walked into the store, and when I left the store the truck was dead. Battery was good, alternator was good, but would not start. I had it towed to my local Ford dealer. Three days later they informed me that the starter was bad and it was replaced. Two days later I'm driving at highway speed (approx 70 mph) and the truck violently downshifts from sixth to third gear causing the tires to lock up and the vehicle to skid approx 20 ft in NYC traffic. Luckily there was no one close behind me although there were numerous car horns beeped and swerving traffic as I rapidly decelerated. The truck remained in third gear until I moved into the safety lane and the RPMs (due to slowing) returned to normal. The instrument panel only displayed a message "Contact Dealer". I shut the truck off and the turned it back on with no faults indicated and limped it home. Since then the truck has repeatedly failed to start. It will start fine for a day or two, and then nothing when the key is turned. I had it towed to my local service station where the mechanic informed me that the computer code errors indicated that there were multiple errors with the transmission. The soonest that the Ford dealer can inspect is 35 days from now. I see that earlier model Ford F150's had a factory recall for similar transmission problems. My concern is that due to electrical malfunctions within the transmission control module, Ford F150's may rapidly decelerate when the transmission inadvertently downshifts multiple gears causing accidents and possible loss of life.

2015 Ford F150 - 85,000 miles. While driving at highway speeds vehicle suddenly locked the tires and began to slide out of control. PRNDL display went black and wrench warning light illuminated on dash. Car behind me nearly rear-ended due to rapid deceleration without brake lights. I was able to steer to the shoulder to avoid an accident. After shutting off vehicle and restarting, vehicle acted normally. Wrench indicator remained illuminated. Took vehicle to local ford dealership where multiple PCM codes were found: P06E9, P0707, P1702, P1921. Dealer Service was able to reproduce issue; slight movement/wiggle to shifter caused transmission range sensor to "go erratic". Technician recommended replacing transmission Molded Lead Frame. I was given a repair estimate of $1284 and told the part was on back order 6 weeks due to the high number of failures in this part. This part has been recalled on earlier year models of the F150, but the 2015 was not included. I was lucky this incident happened during warm, dry weather and traffic was light. Had the roads been wet or icy (or had the driver behind me not been paying attention) this would have resulted in a violent, high speed accident. I feel lucky to be alive and unhurt.
