I was driving on the highway and the vehicle loss power. I stepped on the gas pedal but the engine was sputtering and the truck was slowing down. I had to quickly pulled over. Shut the engine off, waited 5 minutes before starting it again. I was able to drive home, the code was P2112 throttle body actuator. It happened so quickly without any warning. I thought this is very dangerous. I was lucky today that I was driving on the right lane and able to pull over. If I was on the left lane on the highway, I don't know what would happen with sudden loss of power.

I was parked in a sage brush field, warming up in my truck. I turned it off and opened the door to get out. This is when I noticed my electronic running boards didn't extend. So I situated myself back in the drivers seat and realized the radio was still playing. (it is suppose to turn off when I open the door and the truck is off) I started the truck and found I had no dashboard lights, gauges were off, locks would not work in the front. I had only radio ( volume control didn't work) and flashers. I drove the few miles to my dealer. After calling someone. They told me they did a hard reboot of the system. Everything came back on and I noticed it was a few days before everything readjusted to read correctly. I was told to come back if I had more problems. They had a list of faults that showed on the computer when they plugged it in. The codes: BCM, fcim, MS1-can, HS2-can, HS3-can, U0137 said tbm couldn't communicate with BCM. Final statement on cause: Excessive network traffic on the controller area network (can) bus causing the fcim to lock up. I have the work order if needed.

The truck was running for about 15 minutes. We were going down a major highway in one of the passing lanes at approximately 70mph then without any warning power was lost. On the display trac stability came on then cycled thru hill assist and several others. I drifted of the road just past a exit. The engine felt like it was missing terribly as it cycling thru these errors. I shut it down and restarted it seemed ok, but check engine light still on, when I tried to move it started to shake and cycle errors again. I shut it down again and restarted this time it was running ok. The check engine light was still on and we drove with thecheck engine light for approximately 400 miles stopping and shuting off engine several times.light still on. Stopped for 1 hour to eat when restarting no check engine light on and has been working as normal today.

Service advance trac light came on while driving at highway speeds. Complete loss of power but engine was still running at a very rough idle. Zero throttle response. This happened while pulling a 30 ft camper in downtown nashville. Extremely dangerous situation. I was able to shut the truck off and restart it to clear the code but it continued to happen. After researching online I've found that this is a very common problem caused by the throttle body and sensor. Theres recalls out for multiple F150 truck models but apparently mine was made at a time that wasn't included in the recall. Ford has a bigger problem than they are admitting to and they are putting people's lives in danger by doing so. I reached out to Ford because I wanted them to document that theres a problem if they weren't going to fix it. They recommended I report it to the NHTSA. I nearly got hit multiple times because of a faulty sensor that costs less than $300 to replace.

A D V E R T I S E M E N T S

My 2015 F150 with 100,700 miles on it completely stalled on me while pulling into traffic. I lost all control and had no throttle response and the truck went into idle mode and would not do anything until I put in park and then turned the truck off and then restarted the truck. Ran my codes and noticed that it showed a P2112 code which was a fault with the throttle body response. This caused my truck to completely lose all function in the middle of a busy intersection with cross traffic. Luckily there were people turning to prevent an 18 wheeler from coming towards me and the speed limit of 55 mph. This is totally unacceptable for this to just shutdown like this and cause serious danger for myself and those driving around me. After reading online it seems that this is a common problem with these throttle body assembly's. this is not ok!!!! I replaced the throttle body myself without paying $800 at the Ford dealership. This has to be addressed for safety reasons.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the steering wheel became extremely tight when attempting to turn. The eps, electronic stability, and traction control warning indicators flashed, and the steering wheel seized. The vehicle was unable to be driven. The contact had to apply extreme force to turn the steering wheel. The vehicle was pulled over to the side of the road, shut off the engine, and restarted the vehicle. The vehicle was coasted to the dealer (elder Ford, 777 john R rd, troy, mi 48083, (888) 467-5023) where it was diagnosed that the steering column, steering sensor, sleeve, and steering unit needed to be replaced due to the intermediate shaft internally fracturing. The dealer provided a loaner vehicle. The vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 15V279000 (steering) and NHTSA action number: AQ17001 (steering). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The VIN was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 36,000.

On Oct 23, 2017 my 2015 Ford F150 steering locked while driving on California highway 273. Stopped truck and had to force steering wheel hard to the right to get steering to break loose. Also, all electric devices on steering wheel failed to operate. Display on dash flashed many different system failures. Unable to turn off key until steering wheel broke loose. On the morning of Oct 24, 2017 all worked okay but took truck to dealer.

On 2/23/2017 while driving 50-55 mph on an expressway, the vehicle throttle became unresponsive. The tachometer still showed about 1,000 rpms, dash lights began illuminating, advancetrac was disabled, hill start assist was disabled, the wrench light enabled and a check manual light enabled. There also was a hard shift or clunk sound that came from the transmission. After shifting the truck into neutral while coasting, I attempted to turn off and restart the engine. Engine successfully restarted, but the throttle remained unresponsive and all warning lights mentioned above returned. I pulled the truck safely to the side of the highway, and attempted to restart again. This time the engine sputtered and then I turned it off. Next I removed the key, opened the door, closed the door, locked the truck, waited for the accessory lights to turn off, unlocked the truck, opened and closed the door and then restarted, and the truck seemed to clear the problem. I took the truck to the dealer and they later told me the truck is not storing any error codes in it's memory.

Driving on interrstate 70 at 65 mph, I had several alerts begin flashing ranging from check 4X4, hill assist failure, 2H, parking brake and many more. In addition I lost power steering, brake lights and turn signals. I was able to drive truck home. This happened 4 more times. I called dealer and they suggested I drive it to their establishment some 20 miles away. I did not feel safe and contacted roadside assistance to tow the truck. I had to beg for a loaner one week later I received a call stating the technician needed to drive the truck to see if the same alerts happened even though they found 12 plus alerts when they analyzed the truck in their shop. I allowed this to occur as I wanted answers. I received a call today stating they had found the problem, a wire had became corroded in the steering column causing all the alerts to malfunction. They are replacing the entire column and my truck will be completed by Tuesday. I had purchased this truck just 4 months prior and have been a loyal Ford customer for 30+ years.

My truck's collision avoidance / adaptive cruise control has false sensing when passing large heavy duty trucks. At 50-75mph with someone right behind you, this can be very dangerous. If a heavy duty truck is one or two lanes to your right and you are passing them with no one in front of you, the radar sensor senses incorrectly and hits the brakes, flashes the red collision avoidance light and the tone goes off. I've had this happen at least 30 times since I bought the truck brand new.. 4-5 times I've almost been rear ended. It doesn't do it with all semi's, so it's very unexpected. I've taken it to multiple Ford dealers, and they've attempted repairs at least 5 times now. Problem is still not fixed and it's not safe to drive wondering when it will be applying the brakes out of nowhere for no reason. It's also not safe to let someone else drive who is unaware of the issue. This is similar to the Ford recall 15S29 and NHTSA 15V614000, however, my vehicle was manufactured Feb 2015.
