When I first brought it in in 2016, they said the door must not have been put on correctly and sent it to a body shop. Happened again, they said they fixed it. I got a recall for it and brought it in, still happening in 2019. 2nd recall for it. Brought it in yesterday, we'll see if it works. Very annoying, happened during a blizzard and back door wouldn't latch.

Bought a new truck to avoid petty issues of used trucks. My wife was driving her new truck to work , when she went around a corner leaving our neighborhood her door flew open. Thankfully she does not panic easily so she calmly slowed down to a stop and attempted to reclose her door to no avail. So she drove back to our house one handed and parked the truck where it has sat for over a week waiting to hear from someone about a fix. Our dealer who is great is doing all he can but parts are not available, let me say that again parts for a problem ford is well aware of are not available. It will be maybe two to three more weeks before we get parts then we have to sched. the repair? Ford says I have to work with my dealer and there is no immediate remedy for owners who are without their car. They tell me there is no one at ford to talk to about this except the recall coordinators who just keep saying call your local dealer. I will have to rent a car for my wife so she can go to work so we can keep paying on this truck. Yep I said I have to rent a car to go to work so I can pay for a FORD truck to just sit in my driveway.

F-150 Platinum 5.0L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 17,800 miles

Problem first occurred in October of 2016 when the right rear door would not unlock. Later the door would unlock and work most of the time until the latch was stuck open and door would not close. That started working and then the locking function completely quit working with the key or auto lock functions. It would only manually lock or unlock. Dealer was great and stated that the lock mechanism was broken and ordered a new one. Hopefully this will correct the problem

Pretty annoying to spend 60 grand on a truck and not be able to close the door or use the locks. Think the truck's a lemon with all the problems with it.

truck door does not close when temps reach 32 degrees

I live in upstate NY where winters get really cold and very long. I just purchased a 2015 Ford F150 used with 18500 miles. Everything was fine, no problems. We are having a cold spell. Temps are below freezing. I went open the drivers side door to leave and the door would not stay closed. I slammed it a few times to no avail. It wasn't until the temps rose above freezing that the door would work again. Is there a fix for this?

F-150 XLT 3.7L

The truck only 4 months old, under 3k. It had problem with 2 rear door latches could not open from inside, front drive side could not lock (remote control horned beep but the door able to open without press unlock). Contacted dealer and Ford Customer Relationship, discussed with several staffs included manager but no help! The replacement parts had no EAT (day/month/year). Very disappointed with Ford!!! The truck seated on the ground for over month and half. This is terrible Ford company service, if you try to complain with Ford Customer Relationship it meant you talking to the wall. I told them that i will write a letter to complaint and the answer was the letter i write will go into the same person/department that i just talking too. No more Ford on my car shopping list.

F-150 XTR FX4 2.7L

Brought the truck to get this issue look at. They work on two of the doors (front driver and rear passenger) but now it the rear passenger. The dealer said that they had received a service note about this and they tried lubricating the door latch but they might have to replace them. The problem is that they don't have any latch right now and it might take a while.
