Windshield wiper continue to operate in low intermittent when the switch is in the off position - the driver cannot turn off the wipers. Any time the truck's engine is on, the wipers run. Ford Motor Company published online tsb 15-0061 on April 27, 2015, which addressed the problem for model years 2011-2014 for Explorer, F150's, edges, mkx's and F-Super Duty vehicles. The bulletin call for the installation of a "new wiper/malfunction switch, which at my dealer costs $900. Obviously, a vehicle cannot be safely operated with the wiper running in dry weather. Eventually, the wiper blades would melt and streak the windshield, thus blurring the driver's vision. Repairing the problem is not is not optional, it mus be done. Ford knew it had problems with the equipment in model years 2011-2014. I have a 2015 and the problem still exists. Not only have they not solved the problem inn newer models, they failed to re-engineer the wiper system to make the repair less costly. Replacing the switch requires disassembling and reassembling the steering column, which is labor intensive and thus expensive. Ford has managed to limit its exposure by calling the problem a warranty issue. I commute 80 miles a day in metro atlanta. The weather has been relatively dry in recent years, so I blew through the mileage limits on the warranty with little need to use my wipers. Working wipers are necessary safety equipment. Ford knew they had a problem for several years, but did not solve the issue. The cost is not affordable for many americans. Ford should bare the burden of repairing equipment that they knew was faulty, but continued to install in new vehicles.

The wipers quit working when the right blinker is on. When the right blinker is on to signal a turn, the wipers quit working completely. It does not matter what mode the blinkers are in (fast, slow, intermittent) once the right blinker is off, the wipers will begin to work again. Vehicle can be stationary or in motion. I believe the multi-function device is defective.

Wiper fluid tubing constricted in cold weather, no fluid comes out. Using -20F wiper fluid, no problems in other vehicles, in F150 nothing comes out below 15F. Once above 25F, works fine. Did get replacement tubing from delaer, same problem.

My F150 was started and the max defrost was on. While standing next to the vehicle, the rear glass window shattered without cause. A burning smell was noticed, but I assumed it was coming from somewhere other than my truck. The vehicle was parked and I was standing near the vehicle. It is not a possibility that something struck the rear glass, it is an apparent malfunction or defect. I contacted for customer relations and was completely disappointed with the service.

The remote start was on for 5 minutes, we got in the car and the entire back windshield was shatterring. There was no prior damage to the back windshield, no issues ever. We looked on the outside and it was shattering from the edges and slowly started cracking to pieces before our eyes. If we would have been driving this would have been a huge safety concern especially with children in the back seat.

On 10/18/19 at 7:20 am I started my 2015 F150 with 27K miles via the autostart system as the outside temperature was around 35F and there was front on the glass. My truck was in my driveway, facing North towards the street. When I approached my truck after in N for under 5 minutes I could smell a burning odor. I opened the truck and the smell was stronger. When I look around I saw that the rear window was completely shattered with a hole where a section fell into the bed. I contacted my Ford dealer and the service tech stated he never heard of this and they could replace it for approx. $1400.

Windshield wipers turn on randomly and intermittently whenever the truck is on even though the wiper switch is in the off position. Exact cause of malfunction unknown. This issue was subject to a recall for earlier model years, however not for 2015 model year. Issue causes startle or driver and loss of clear vision.

Wipers turn on and stay on while driving. Road conditions had no effect. The courtesy wiper was turned off. Even though the wiper switch was turned off the wipers would still come on and stay on. I took it to Ford and they said the wiper switch was bad. Charged me $300 to make the repair. Ford technician said the switch in the steering column went bad. Of coarse this happened at 41,000 miles and Ford declined to warranty it.

On a major highway in elk grove Illinois during rush hours. 45 mph. Outside temperature was 27 degrees above zero. Road was wet with salt from previous snow fall. Windshield was collecting heavy spray back from other vehicles in front of my truck. When applying windshield washer the washer failed to spray. Resulting in a very smeared and heavy road dirt on windshield. It was very frightening to not being able to see in front of me. I was unable to pull over and clean the windshield manually at that moment. This has happened twice this winter and I found this to be very threatening to properly maintain safe driving under these circumstances. This only happens when below freezing and there is -35 below zero washer fluid in the reservoir I have made an appointment at a Ford dealership which they have a bulletin repair on this. No accidents because of this yet. I believe in putting up the guard rail before the vehicle runs of the road.

The rear windshield shattered during defrost mode. The vehicle was pulling away from a stop sign when the glass shattered. There was no impact, the vehicle was traveling under 20 miles per hour, the temperature outside was approximately 20 degrees, and the heat setting inside was set to "max". the rear glass panes on either side of the sliding window shattered simultaneously with a sound that could be described as a "gun shot". broken glass fell into the cab of the truck and on to the seats and floor. Normally my children are seated in the rear of the vehicle. On this particular morning, the rear of the vehicle was empty. The event occurred about 3 miles from my home, so the vehicle had only been running for about 10 minutes. I believe that the safety risk is a result of a materials defect combined with a heating system failure. The glass is likely experiencing severe thermal shock during defrost mode. Thermal shock leads to shattering even if the glass is tempered. Ford should recall this rear window assemblage and associated heating components immediately. Ford customer service was contacted and a case number was assigned. After repairs were complete, a copy of the invoice was hand delivered to a Ford dealership with a request that full reimbursement be received for required repairs due to material defects and faulty heating systems.

Windshield wiper fluid not working. Ford said tubes freeze, I had to pay to replace but the fluid still does not come out when temperatures below 20 degrees. I am using rain-X fluid rated to -30 degrees, same fluid works in other vehicles. Once engine is warm and stopped for 20 minutes, fluid will sometimes work. I think the plastic tubes Ford charged me for should be replaced with metallic ones that will not constrict/shrink.

Below about 25 degrees Fahrenheit, the windshield washer system freezes up and is unusable. This is despite having fluid certified to -45 degrees centigrade in the system. The freeze up occurs regardless of whether the vehicle is being driven or is parked. The system is always unusable below 20 degrees Fahrenheit. This has been a persistent problem every winter since the vehicle was new. I have taken it to the dealership and they are unable to determine the problem. I suspect this is a defect throughout the make/model/year.
