Defected original lug nuts. Experienced lug nuts that had swollen and could no longer be removed from the wheels using a normal socket. High risk to be stranded if needing to change spare tire. Concern for overall wheel stability due to not being secure / tight due to mushrooming Expensive to replace.
Swollen lug nuts. Was advised by Paradise Ford, Cocoa, FL dealership all 24 needed to be replaced. My cost $124. The service technician stated to me, -??it-??s a bad design, Ford should cover this.-??
2014 Ford F-150. Consumer writes in regards to swollen lug nuts on all 4 wheels. The consumer stated the manufacturer was notified, but did not offer any assistance.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer for routine maintenance where it was determined that the lug nuts were prematurely cracked on all four wheels. The dealer (benna Ford roush superior, 3022 tower ave, superior, wi 54880, (715) 394-8669) inspected the lug nuts and indicated that they needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure to determine a recommended solution. The failure mileage was not available.
