The service advancetrac and hill descent control fault come up on my dashboard and my power steering does not work. While most vehicles can be driven without power steering but this truck is not drivable without that feature. The lights and blinkers do not work. These faults happened while driving and I almost lost control of my vehicle and crashed. I'm lucky I didn't hit and kill somebody. This is a huge safety issue for which afford already knows about but refuses to fix our truck.
Truck parked in driveway. After the truck was turned off in park and key removed the truck started to roll back causing injury to my wheelchair bound husband, breaking his arm and dragging me 15 feet down the driveway before coming to a stop across the street at the curb
Turned on the rear window defroster on a very cold morning and after about ten minutes while driving, the rear window loudly shattered almost causing an accident

Truck down shifts while driving. My pregnant wife and I were driving 70 mph on highway, when truck down shifted to 1st gear and nearly caused us to slide off road in the rain. Ford just recalled 2011-2013 for same problem! they need to recall 2014 as well! my truck was fixed at Ford dealership.
When in motion, the vehicle will randomly slip into "limp mode" and slow the vehicle down to approximately 1-2 mph. This has happened at speeds between 15 and 70 mph. This symptom has occurred during city and highway driving, as well as while pulling a trailer. The vehicle can be restarted, and the error will clear; however, the symptom will randomly occur again. The vehicle has been taken to a dealership several times, and the throttle body was replaced in October 2016. Since that date, the symptom has continued to intermittently occur and no solution has been found.
Rear window behind driver's seat shattered. Was not in car when it occurred. Does not appear to have been from impact. Multiple reports online of rear defrost on remote start causing window to shatter (glass retained by safety coating). Remote start was being used to warm up vehicle in the morning prior to noticing broken window. Temperature was well below zero, single digits.
Left rear window shattered while sitting in my driveway. It was apx. -10 F outside. Other than the cold, there was no other factor to explain why my window shattered.
"takata recall" I was letting my truck warm up before a hunting trip that morning, ice on windows so turned on rear defrost, got in truck drove roughly 5miles up the road and rear driver section of glass "exploded" and spider webbed, rear defrost was on at the time of incident.
Parked in a parking lot in a Suburban area but in an isolated part of the lot have a super can with suicide doors, was able to get in the back seat and close all doors. Front console was up. There was no exit and I had no communication devise such as a cell phone. After combing the back seat area for about 30 minutes I happened to see the front console lever and was able to get it down and reach front door handle.. it was a 100 degree day and had this not happened at approx 10pm I may have died. I could not reach the manual but there was nothing concerning the doors when I eventually was able to read it. Ford complaint was made November 2,2018, was told to contact dealer service department. Was told there was no recourse and nothing could be done to rectify issue
The heater/air conditioning fan/blower will randomly stop working causing you to freeze without heat or overheat without the air conditioning. It can be hit or kicked under the glove compartment to getting it going occassionally but not always. Also if you hit a pothole in the road it can also cause it to stop working.
On December 5, 2018, my 2014 Ford F-150 FX4 caught fire at the bottom of my driveway. I went out to start my truck to take the garbage to the road for pickup. I put the truck in park and began to unload the garbage from the back of truck. After unloading the last bag, I noticed smoke coming from under the hood, by the time I went to pop the hood smoke and already taken over the cab and a fire had started underneath the passager side dashboard. I rushed to call 911, by the time the fire department arrived the truck was a total loss. The heater stopped working moments before the fire and the fire department ruled it an electrical fire, likely from the heat source.
Rear cab glass drivers side shattered 10 min after remote starting truck. Stationary vehicle. Sat in truck for a few minutes and heard what sounded like gunshot to the roof. Got out and examined roof, no trees or anything around. Found one of the rear glass panels shattered. Rear defrost button would never light up (figured it was broken). Was set to automatically come on when remote starting truck. Temp was between 20-25 F. rear window defrost button now lights up for the first time. Quick internet search reveals that this exact scenario happens to thousands of others with this truck. A random exploding window due to having a rear defrost on in the winter should not be paid for by the owner. This is a clear defect in the vehicle.
