The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the power locks on the driver's side door malfunctioned. As a result, the contact had to manually lock and unlock the door. Jim hudson Ford (1201 w main St, lexington, SC 29072, (803) 359-4114) advised the contact to call the manufacturer to be added to the list for an unknown recall. The manufacturer referred the contact to NHTSA. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 60,000.
When ignition is turned off, and the radio is still playing, a low battery warning message appears with instructions to remove ignition key and turn off the radio. In the past, after several of these messages, there was no power to start the engine.
On December 5, 2018, my 2014 Ford F-150 FX4 caught fire at the bottom of my driveway. I went out to start my truck to take the garbage to the road for pickup. I put the truck in park and began to unload the garbage from the back of truck. After unloading the last bag, I noticed smoke coming from under the hood, by the time I went to pop the hood smoke and already taken over the cab and a fire had started underneath the passager side dashboard. I rushed to call 911, by the time the fire department arrived the truck was a total loss. The heater stopped working moments before the fire and the fire department ruled it an electrical fire, likely from the heat source.
Turned on the rear window defroster to clear the window of ice, the unit overheated, did not blow a fuse, instead got so hot it burned and smoked and shattered the window! this happened in motion. This is extremely dangerous! Ford needs to recall these windows!
Driving down the interstate at 70 mph, the "check brake system" warning flashed on the dash. I went to push the brake pedal and it was locked in place. I physically could not depress the pedal, not even enough to disable the cruise control. I had to switch cruise off on the wheel, shift to neutral, and coast to a stop on the shoulder of the highway. Shut the truck down, turned back on and the code disappeared and my brakes worked again. Later that day, the exact same thing happened on the interstate again. Physically could not depress the brake pedal. It was like it was locked in place and I could not bring the truck to a stop. I took my truck into the dewey Ford in ankeny, ia a couple nights later and they began diagnostics. 4 days later, they could not reproduce the problem, and advised me to come pick up the truck. Nothing against the dealer, as they cannot fix what they can't reproduce, and they were kind enough to provide a loaner and a discount on the diagnostics fee, but Ford corporate really needs to get involved on this safety concern. I've tried calling their customer service, but they will do nothing until it can be diagnosed. If the dealer can't find the problem, then Ford needs to send a product support representative to diagnose it themselves. As of today, my truck has done this 4 times since leaving dewey, but always when I am too far from their store to drop it off. At this point, im scared to drive my truck in traffic or with passengers. Please use your powers to relay this to Ford as we have a serious problem that they are ignoring. I have a receipt from the dealer for the diagnostics if a copy of this is needed for my complaint.

The truck was brought for service initially because the ac blower was not working properly. It was turning on and off by itself. The dealership determined that the motor speed control module has to be replaced in order to operate normally. The module was replaced on 7/13/18. On 11/20/18, I brought the truck back to service because the ac blower wasn't working again. And after further investigate, the technician found the pigtail going to the module replaced burned. Both of the times, the service was paid in order to get the work done, and the reason behind this issue was a high resistance caused the harness to get burned.
Airbag light has been coming on over the past couple years. I have taken the truck in to Ford dealer service centers for multiple visits and have spent a considerable amount of time and money trying to solve. Most recently, the truck was at the dealer with the airbag light on and while troubleshooting, the light turned off. As soon as the light was off, there was nothing else that could be done other than returning to the service center if/when the light came back on. I have been told that if the airbag light is on, none of the airbags will deploy. This is a very serious safety concern for a modern vehicle that I have been prudent in trying to remediate but have not been able to resolve the issue. Regarding what specifically occurs, when starting the truck either the airbag light will be on or off. If the light is on, it typically remains on and does not shut off regardless of how long the truck is continuously operated. If the light is off, it remains off and does not come on regardless of how long the truck is continuously operated. I have not yet been able to detect a pattern (time of year, weather, amount of time since it was last driven) with when the airbag light comes on.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. While operating the vehicle, the rear defroster failed to operate. The failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The local dealer (amato Ford, 1510 main St, mukwonagon, wi) was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified and no S*olution was offered. The failure mileage was 30,000.
There seems to be a problem with the rear defroster system on all Ford F150's from 2011thru 2016. It either just stops working causing a electrical short and possible fire and electrical damage or bodily injury if contacted by a person, or most commonly it will shatter the rear window causing a visual obstruction out the rear while driving. Another issue with this defect is that when the window does shatter, it has been known to create a hole in the glass which could lead again to a person being injured with the broken glass. I did some research on this, and within 20 minutes I have discovered over 200 other customers with the same problem. Unfortunately the dealers nor the customers notify the manufacture of the issue. I don't know how many of these have been replaced by warranty, but it seems that the Ford dealers say it is a $700 repair because you have to replace the whole rear window and there for no one wants to take the responsibility of fixing it. This is a serious safety issue due to the risk of possible bodily injury and driving hazard restricting the vision while driving. Please, could you help with resolving this serious issue. Thank you
Rear window panel shattered in place due to the defroster overheating. There had been no prior damage to the window, and the window shattered while the car was stationary and idling in the parking lot at my work, only to defrost and warm up. In the attached images, it is evident from the picture inside the vehicle that the window has completely cracked, and from the outside, it is proven that there was no impact of a foreing object that resulted in this.
I have been having issues with my battery discharging. The Ford dealer as changed out the battery 3 times & still have the same issue. Something in the system is draining the battery.the dealer has checked it and still has not found the problem. If the truck sits for 2 to 3 day when I go to start it the dash lights up saying turn power off to save battery - system off to save battery. We have no after market equipment on my 2014 Ford F-150 5.0 motor.
The power door lock actuators in all four doors have failed within a period of two months. When the actuators fails, the door will no longer lock/unlock with keyless remote or by using the inside button to unlock the doors. Only the driver door has a key hole, so when the other rdoor are not working, the only way to unlock the door is from the inside. Occasionally while the door actuators is not working, the door is difficult to open from the inside as if the lock is difficult to unlock. The only repair to fix the actuators is by replacing the entire door latch mechanism. I worry the door would become inoperable and unable to open someone could be trapped inside. Another concern is vehicle theft due to the door not looking as assumed when pressing the button.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. While driving 65 mph and towing a 2012 kz sportsman travel trailer, the vehicle lost power. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer (ed corley Ford, 1870 w Santa Fe ave, grants, nm 87020, (505) 285-4695) where it was diagnosed that a fuse was damaged, the battery needed to be replaced, and a new relocation kit needed to be installed. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. On another occasion, while driving 55 mph and towing a 2012 kz sportsman travel trailer, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was towed to mojave auto group (1010 w. main St., barstow, ca 92311, 760-256-2241) where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump and sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact called the California highway patrol due to being stranded in an unsafe location. The manufacturer was contacted and provided case number: Cas-16131250. The manufacturer stated that the resolution of the repairs would have to made with the local dealer. The failure mileage was 62,000.
When I am driving, and I attempt to accelerate(press gas pedal) the engine loses power. I then have to coast to a stop and put vehicle in park, turn engine off and restart, and drive on. Sometimes it does it again.sometimes it doesn't. it's does it when I'm on road ways. Dangerous it happens in traffic.
First received advance trac warning, then hill descent warning and then power steering failure indication. Power steering failure was sudden and unexpected and almost caused an accident when in motion doing a turn, due to electronic power steering system lock up which prevented the front wheels from turning as much as expected. This is a very dangerous unexpected condition and could have caused a serious accident with injuries or worse if occurred at highway speeds!
Truck has 46665 miles. When driving first 10 minutes (city driving) vehicle shudders, shows wrench indicator and goes into limp home mode (no accelerator). Have to pull over, turn off ignition and restart engine. Problem code shows P2112 (throttle actuator control system...stuck closed). This may happen 3 times in first 15 minutes of driving, but then goes away when car warms up. I have also noticed abnormal exhaust smoke and bad gas mileage. Having truck go into limp home mode in middle of traffic is very dangerous.
2014 Ford F-150 serious loss of power steering issue, notice going out at certain inclines of highway, checked fuse on batter looks ok, noticed different levels of ac/heat fan speed variations, warning lt. Reads check advance traction control. Should be a recall according to complains I've read on issue..
The 20 amp fuse for the fuel pump relay overheated and melted causing the engine to stop. This problem had been showing up intermittently, only when starting, for about 2 weeks. Searched on-line and found that this is a very common problem for F150 trucks and that Ford is aware of the problem, has issued a service kit to change the fuse to a larger version but has not issued a recall.
Ford F-150 2014 had an electrical issue that caused it to go up in flames as I was driving it down the highway at about 60 miles an hour. I first smelled a burning odor, then I looked in my review mirror and saw smoke, then I started seeing flames in the back passenger corner of my back seats. By this time the truck was very smoky but I was able to safely pull aside to the shoulder of the highway. I made an attempt to open my driver's door, but it wouldn't open and I then broke the glass to open the door from inside out. As I exited my vehicle and walked around the back of the truck I grabbed a towel out the bed of the truck and got on the ground to try and stop the flames at that time I could see a wire burning between the bed and the passenger cab of the truck as it made loud popping noises, then the truck just burst into flames. I called 911 and they called the fire department, they came out on the scene and put the fire out.
Rear drivers side panel wwindshield shattered. Turned on rear windshield defroster and after a minute or so heard a large bang. Was driving to work. Straight. Temp wa in the low twenties. Got snow and ice in lake county Illinois.
