My transmission had been acting funny earlier in the day. Like not changing gears correctly. Later in the day, driving home from work, it started bucking and and the instrument cluster started going crazy. It started accelerating and I had to hit the brakes. It never threw any codes. A couple days later driving I had no power, and instrument cluster went crazy again. I seen a wrench and finally threw a code. I keep a code reader in my truck, it threw po720. It started driving fine after I turned it off and back on. I went home and read about the Ford F150 lead frame recall and my truck was made at the same plant. However Ford says, I am not covered. I do not understand how they can cover trucks a couple months before mine.

The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle inadvertently downshifted to first gear, making the vehicle uncontrollable. The speedometer became inoperable. The contact stated that the rear tires locked up with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed that the lead frame needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted but no additional assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 185,000.

On 3 separate occasions I've been going 55-65 mph on the highway and the truck will downshift abruptly and harshly jerking the truck at high speeds. Everything on the instrument panel stops working except for RPMs and the truck is stuck in 5th gear. I get a P0720 code. This is identical to Customer Satisfaction Program 19N01. The reason for my complaint is that my vehicle is not covered. My truck is 6 days outside the build date in the program but has the exact same issue.

The problem is, while driving at normal highway speed the transmission periodically down shifts causing severe loss of speed, with rear wheels skidding with absolutely no prior warning. Truck has been diagnosed at a Ford dealer, the tech stated it was the molded frame lead in the transmission. Thank You.

MY 2014 F 150 5.0 has the 6 speed auto trans. transmission will downshift while running highway speeds or speed over 50 mph. On 09/13/2022 the rear wheeI's locked up for a brief moment causing the rear of the truck to fishtail while I was running 70 mph on the highway. I was able to control the truck and was able to pull off to the side of the road safely this time. turned the truck off and let it reset for a few minutes and it was fine. the second time this happened I was on my way to drop my kids off at the babysitter so I can go to work and it done it again only this time the wheels didn't lock up and it downshifted from 6th to 2nd. Once again i pull over and shut the truck off and let it reset for a little while and it was fine. I am a single father of 5 young kids and this has happened twice in the last 2 weeks with them in the vehicle, this is our only means of transportation. hopefully ford gets this taken care of.

Truck shifts from 6th gear to 1st gear while driving at speeds of 60-70 mph for no apparent reason. Then sticks in 5th and barely moves. I can't drive it, it's dangerous. The part is out of stock everywhere I look. I can't get it fixed. It has 76000 miles on it. It's the only vehicle I own and it is worthless as of now. I can't trade it in because of the issue, can't drive it either. Ford should extend the recall. I have the same 6r80 transmission, with the same faulty part as the lead frame recalls for the 09-13 models. I am 1 month past the cutoff line for the original list. This is crazy, you can buy a truck with the same dangerous issue and it's not being fixed by Ford.

The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at speeds above 45 MPH, the transmission would erroneously shift to 5th gear and remain seized in 5th gear. During the failure, the check engine warning light and wrench warning lights were illuminated. The contact indicated that while disconnecting and reconnecting the battery, the vehicle would operate as normal but eventually, the failure would reoccur. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who replaced the shift solenoid but the failure persisted. The cause of the failure was not determined. The local dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 118,000.

I have a 2014 Ford F150 tremor eco-boost. The vehicle has 104,000 miles on it. For the past couple of weeks I-??ve been noticing the vehicle will randomly feel like it-??s losing power in the RPMs will oscillate for a few seconds and then the vehicle feels like it drops into gear. I wasn-??t sure what was going on I had no trouble codes. Finally one day I started driving I got up to about 50 miles an hour and I noticed the RPM started oscillating little and I also noticed that at the same time it was shifting from six gear to fifth gear back-and-forth and then suddenly the vehicle dropped in the first gear the rear tires locked up and almost lost control of the vehicle. Fortunately no one was behind me. This is a very dangerous condition. I called the Ford dealer and I have an appointment to bring the vehicle in i-??m not sure how successful that will be since I don-??t have a trouble code and the vehicle does this randomly. It will be a long time before I trust this truck again if ever.

Car downshifting into first gear at random while driving causing instant loss of power, braking due to gear change and high revving of engine. When it occurs at highway speed it nearly causes my truck to stop and will not shift into proper gear. Truck continues to rev at nearly 6-7 thousand rpm and puts stress on transmission and motor. Terrifying to be behind the wheel when this occurs

I was driving on highway at 65 miles per hour when my truck suddenly downshifted to first gear and stopped it took a secknds to get the truck going again. I was almost rear ended it was very heart stopping. I dont know why there was a recall on just the 2011-2013 Trucks. My vehicle was built at the Deerfield MI plant same as the others just November of 2013 instead of October 2013 when they closed out the recall. I tried to get it analyzed by a Ford dealership but they gave no appointments for over month out in May! I need my vehicle for work. I'm an essential employee with USPS. Luckily I am close to my office and can take back roads, I can not drive this on the highway! They need to recall all vehicles built at the 2 plants straight through 2013 thus is very dangerous and now I will have to go to my mechanic and if recall does come through. I certainly hoe Ford will honor repair costs done at a non dealership ad I cant get an appointment for over a month!!

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the solenoid needed to be replaced. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 160,000.

The contact stated that the vehicle was usually in 3rd or 5th gear whenever the failure would occur, causing the vehicle to come to an abrupt stop. The contact would pull over, restart the vehicle, and the vehicle would temporarily operate as needed; the failure would recur after driving approximately 10 miles. The vehicle was taken to be diagnosed and the contact was informed that the lead output shaft sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V433000 (Power Train) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was contacted and confirmed that the VIN was not included. The contact was informed that the repair would be an out-of-pocket expense. The failure mileage was 92,348.

Vehicle down shifted from 6th gear to 1st gear, while going 70. Rear tires locked up and slide. Vehicle repeat the issue after a brief stop on the side of road to check for broken parts and determining there was nothing visually broken and no warning lights, error codes, or weird sounds when cranked. Pulled vehicle over and called for a trailer. Trailered vehicle to residence. Found where Ford has a recall for similar event in the 2011-13 models related to OSS and PCM.
