So I bought the truck used in August of 2017. I was told there was a 5 year 60,000 mileage warranty on the Truck. So we decided not to walk away from the deal and purchased the truck with this new information that was given to us. So in May of 2018 the driver side rear passenger door will not open any longer. I googled the issue and come to find out this is a common issue for Ford F-150.
I chatted with Amber from Ford.com and was told my warranty was only for 3 years and 36,000 miles but informed me to take my truck to my local Ford Dealership to get a quote and once I had a price to do another chat with Ford.com to see if Ford would make an exception.
On May 7, 2018 I chatted with Kim from Ford.com and she told me if the dealership didn't say this was under warranty that I would have to pay out of pocket to get the door fixed. The warranty expired at 36,000 miles. Even though this is common in the truck I am forced to pay this on a vehicle I was told had a 5 year 60,000 mileage bumper to bumper warranty. Now I realize the salesman was just trying to tell us anything we wanted to hear to get the sale.
This was my first Ford I ever purchased and will be my last. The truck looks nice but go with another brand.
