I will be driving at a speed between 30 and 40 mph when the RPM rises up between 3000 and 4000 RPM. This happens to me about once a week. It seems related to the recent complaints about the 2013 F-150 dropping in to a lower gear. This has been going on for about 2 years.

We were sitting at a stop light waiting to make a left hand turn, signal change and took off truck shifted from 1st to 2nd than back to 1st and would come out. I shifted it into manual and tried to shift my self but it would shift. I moved over to the side of the road put it in park and shifted back to first. Took off again but was still locked in 1st gear. Pulled over again and turn off the vehicle this time started it back up and everything was fine little did I know a week later I had another problem but this time it was major. Which will be in another complaint.

Stuck in first 3 times in on week while leaving a stop light. Each time I fixed it by pulling over and turning the truck off and back on. Scheduled an appointment at the dealer but it stopped happening. Talked to the service writer and was told they need a code or the truck has to have a problem that can be replicated. Had other problems as well but i am writing another report on them.

While driving home from my daughter's school as I was trying to accelerate my truck was stuck on first gear. The RPM was going up and you could hear the engine but the truck would not shift to second gear. It remained in first gear even though I was pressing the gas and the mph remained at 20. It only corrected itself after I came to a stop sign, completely stopped and then continued.

Update from Aug 26, 2015: This happened again today (8/26/2015) I was stopped at a traffic light and when I had the green light I pressed on the accelerator but the truck remained on first gear. Again RPM was going up but the truck would not shift or increase speed. I drove a while like that since there was no place to stop or move over. I finally came to a stop sign and it fixed itself after me accelerating again.
