When I first noticed the noise, I called different mechanics in the Billings, MT area. One mechanic knew what I was referring to, the noise, which is the tensioners on the timing belt/chain. He said it would cost about $3,500.00, but he no longer does the work. I took it the Ford Dealership and they could not hear the noise and found nothing. This is when I still had a warranty on the truck. I am worried that when I am driving it will go out and I will be stranded. I live 3 hours away from Billings and Great Falls. Other people that own the F-150's say they have the same problem and when you look on line, it is a problem. I want Fort to replace the timing chain/belt and put better tensioners in their trucks.

Total engine replacement, $7,500, turbo remained. Truck has been to 2 Ford dealerships within past 16 months. Ford directives identify potential problems of this nature. I stood in one dealership with a quote in my hand and called a second dealership in my hometown, sure he said $5,200 and not replace turbo. Dealership I'm standing at says $7,200 to replace ecoboost engine and turbos, all need replacing. My hometown dealership, where I've bought 3 vehicles from, quotes $5,200. Select hometown dealership for what I thought was $5,200 complete engine change in 5-7 business days. Much later and an invoice for $7,00 from hometown dealership.

Ford knows there's an issue with the ecoboost engine that caused my problem. Now I've got a replacement motor with a limited 3 year warranty, 100,000 miles, that I was quoted a lower price for knowing Ford has pending law suits for the identical problem. 2013 vehicle is almost new. Do I replace the engine for what I thought was $5,200 or buy another truck. I opted with the replacement engine for what I thought was $5,200 no I had to write a check for $7,500.

I stop all F-150 ecoboost truck owners and share the story. And, on year, the turbos will need replacing soon. Ford knew this the day I bought the truck. We're being deceived.
