The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. While driving approximately 60 mph, the vehicle stalled and the check engine warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle restarted after one attempt, but the failure recurred several times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the rubber boot needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 29,000.

While driving down the highway, the vehicle flashed service advance trac, down hill descent control fault, trailer brake module fail and a couple more codes. All electonics in vehicle went blank, including all controls/gauges. Before doing so, last code read, shift to park. Almost caused me to have an accident, because the power steering went out and nearly pulled me into another vehicle. The acceleration is bad too, feels like it is not firing all cylinders again. Have already taken in for a number of issues, including crankshaft sensor issues(was losing power to driveline); brakes locking up (have replaced the rotors and pads six times and last time I replaced both calibers as well; power steering has been replaced once before, front axles and bearings replaced. As well as, ac problems. When the first issues arose, I was told by service tech at dealership I needed a new engine, (later he completely denied telling me this) instead they fixed some things and gave it back to me. Problems have continued since, like I said have taken it in at least 6 times to a dealer and once to an independent mechanic. At first the problems were covered by warrenty, now they are not, there is only 78,000miles on the truck and has been in shop at least 6 times and is only 4 yrs old. Not sure what to do, as the problems resemble recall issues, but dealership says they aren't part of any recalls. Concerned for my safety on the road.

Driving at normal speeds, my truck loses power and goes into "limp mode" and the wrench icon appears on my dash. This has happened 3 times in the last 150 miles of driving. This could be deadly to me and my family!!! it has also happened a number of time previously as well. Sometimes at 55 mph, sometimes at 40 mph. From my research, this is a known problem to Ford and I don't want to be victim due to this causing an accident. I am now scared for my safety driving this truck!!!

Had the engine studded and drop a cylinder, this is an ecoboost motor, the check engine light started to flash while running rough.it happened as I was passing a tractor trailer on the highway, as I got around him another trailer was coming on behind me, this is when it dropped a cylinder, the trailer almost ran over me.this is a problem with this truck I found out once I did some research, Ford needs to do something about this before someone gets hurt or killed.I called the dealer the first time this happened, as far as the studded and he said bad gas keep driving it(59,500 mls). It happened again at 61,381, took to dealer and they did a tsb 14-0017 reprogram, this worked for about a week then it happened again, took it to the dealer 61850mls, they couldn't get it to do it, I picked it up and 20 miles later it did it again, I got it on video this time so theres no questions, seems as though they know about it but are blowing it off, let me get outside warranty then take a look at it.let me tell you if it happens again, and my family gets hurt I will own Ford !!!! thanks for you time.

I experienced a condition noted in Ford tsb: Asi-32166 "some vehicles, with turbochared gasoline direct injection engines, will exhibit flashing malfunction indicator lamp, an intermittent stumble and/or misfire during hard acceleration during extreme humid or damp conditions." While driving at a relatively steady 55-60 mph (on a rainy afternoon), I pushed the accelerator down in an effort to overtake a vehicle. Immediately, the "check engine" light began flashing, the truck began to shimmy, and I started to lose power. Unable to accelerate any more, I promptly exited the interstate, parked, shut off my vehicle in an effort to allow it to "reset". when I restarted the vehicle, the check engine light was off and the truck ran fine. I was (thankfully) unable to replicate the scenario on the remainder of my drive home.

Cooling system connections. Ford has put in clips on hoses that connect to overflow for cooling system and on a Y-connector at front of motor that not only leak all the time but can just pop off and cause the engine to overheat. I am constantly having to keep buckets under my truck to catch fluid. Ford want an outrageous amount of money to fix and based on what I have read in forums the fix may only last a week and start leaking again. This happens on the 5.0V-8 econoboost.. here is a video I took https://www.youtube.com/watch?V=dn4owb5dxx4

Driving on a city street the truck started shaking and loss all acceleration, it showed a wrench on the dash screen, coasted to a safe place and turned truck off. It restarted fine. Approx 30 mins later on the highway it did the same thing, started shaking, no acceleration and the wrench showed up. Again coasted to a safe spot and restarted. Took it to the dealer the next day and they say nothing is wrong, but that it could be the etb but with out a code showing they cant do anything.

While driving along, lost power and motor vibrated. Light with wrench came on. Vehicle slowed down. Pulled on side of the road. Motor kept running erratically. Engine surged to a higher speed by itself. Problem cleared by itself. Went to autozone and had error code read. It said that it was a defective throttle body. Could have caused an accident if in gear and engine surged or if failure occurred on a freeway.

Multiple times now, my truck will downshift and send the rpms over 4500 this causes the engine to misfire, the engine light will blink and the truck will struggle to maintain its speed and any acceleration is extremely diminished. This is extremely dangerous as I frequently drive on rural 2-lane(one in each direction) highways and find this problem significantly impacts my ability to safely pass slower vehicles. It has failed to accelerate enough times that I cannot depend on the truck to accelerate when I move into oncoming lanes of traffic. At 30,000 miles the engine developed an oil leak. Within a month of having the leak repaired at the dealer, the engine experienced a major misfire event causing the engine light to come on. I returned the vehicle to the dealership for repair. The dealership explained that two ignition coils went bad and required replacement. This caused damage to the spark plugs for which I was charged approx $250 but was able to negotiate it down to $140. Within a month of getting the vehicle back, the vehicle started displaying the misfire symptoms with diminished acceleration and blinking engine light. Very unhappy with this vehicle's performance!

The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. While applying the brake pedal, a squeaking noise was present from all four wheels. The vehicle shook and vibrated. The vehicle also suddenly lost power and appeared to stalled. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who replaced the brake pads and rotors, but the failure continued. The contact was informed that the stalling was due to a faulty brake booster. The dealer changed the spark plugs, but the failures continued. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 47,667.

If you have an ecoboost V6. I have noticed that sometimes when you have to accelerate very quickly the vehicle takes up to 5 seconds to respond and give you any power. I assume that the computer is spinning up the twin turbos but those critical seconds can cause a serious accident. I have on a few occasions almost got ran over because the truck decided to take its time giving me power to get out of the way. Its like for those few seconds you have no power.

I bought my truck new from the dealer 2013. I'm consistent with all the up keeps of my truck. However, mid August 2016, I noticed the truck hesitated to start at the beginning while in stationary position for a few days, then out of nowhere from one day to the next, the engine didn't start in the morning again while in stationary position and then the engine light came up! I bought a new battery thinking that maybe it needed to be replaced, even with the new battery the truck failed to start in stationary. After that, I tried starting my truck for two consecutive days, by the third day the truck started! I drove it immediately to autozone but nothing came up wrong with it? so, I drove it back home. A week later, I had no problems with the truck, like nothing ever happen. Then, yesterday all of a sudden I was driving home, while in motion the engine died in the middle of traffic on a city street, so I pulled over to the side of the road and immediately attempted to restart the truck as it continued to hesitate. Finally, after 10 minutes the truck started and I drove to autozone and again nothing came up wrong with it. So I drove it back home. Then, today, which is September 2, 2016 while the truck is stationary it failed to start and the engine light, came up again. Something is wrong with this truck! I don't feel safe to drive in fear that my truck will stop working while in motion and cause an accident. I can get stranded anywhere at anytime.
