Check engine light came on so I looked in the owners manual as to what might be the cause. Since the light wasn't blinking I knew I had some time to figure it out. Next day stopped to see why the engine light was on, turns out the #8 cylinder was misfiring at start-up. Replaced all the plugs and the issue is still there. Swapped the coil with the #7 cylinder to see if the coil was the issue, nope not it. Heard it could be a "cold start injector" but not sure.
The engine runs fine, still have all the power needed which makes me think its not a major issue but with these trucks you never know. This makes me think its something with the start-up sequence causing the misfire. I do have a warranty since I just bought the truck in June 2019.
Check engine light on large loss of gas mileage. Turbo leaking oil, repaired for $1300. Two weeks later engine light on acceleration & shifting problems, timing belt needs replacing. Are these problems related, do they go hand in hand, if one is fixed, the other should be also? I saw Fords last recall for acceleration problem listed power train control module software update as the repair. Does this mean we should try that before shelling out money on timing belts etc...…

I have received a CODE 0299 & CODE 0016! So one of my turbos is dumping on me and I hear there is a bulletin for the timing chain. Both aren't covered under Ford because this is happening at 67k! I have bought 4 brand new trucks over the years and this is the thanks I seem to get. They just refer me to one of there shops to get it fixed......... NO compassion or loyalty to me for buying their vehicles. Just give them more money to fix a truck I spent plenty to get.
I was out of state when this happened. The engine light came on which stops the remote start from working. I took the truck to a dealer in the state that I was in. They said the thermostat had stuck in the open position. Everything was covered under extended warranty.
2013 F150 with 5.0 V8 with only 62,700 miles. My husband was driving to Texas and the truck had less than 60k miles when the check engine light came on. He was unable to take it directly to a Ford dealership since he had to go straight into work. He did go auto zone and have them check the code which only showed a #7 coil pack needed to be replaced. When he returned we had replaced the coil pack and plug but the light came back on. I told him to take the truck to Orr Ford in Stonewall. The service department has called us and told us the entire engine needed to be replaced because the heads are warped . So $11,000 for a new engine is what they are telling me. I have contacted Ford with no assistance as of yet the light came on prior to 60k miles but Ford says there is nothing they can do because it is now over 60k miles because he drove to work and back. He drives 9 hours in one direction from home so you can imagine the miles he puts on this truck in a trip there and back plus having to go to other rigs. The truck seemed fine just started to shake a little by time he had got home to take it to the closest dealership from our house. We done everything the right way and Ford is still not helping in anyway. I have called twice to Ford and they gave me a case number for the service manager to call. He has called and that person is having surgery and no one can help. So I feel like I am totally being screwed by Ford at this point I have a truck that has been paid for less than a year and now I cant use it. I just bought a 2017 Ford Expedition but looks like I need to look into getting rid of all my Ford products if this is how they treat there loyal customers.
Second occurrence of fuel in the oil. Check engine light on a second time in less that 2000km. Dealer changed high pressure fuel pump this time. They told I don't drive truck far enough, this truck is only driven in the winter. Noticed they now want me to change oil every 3 months now. I believe this is so I won't notice fuel in oil problem until warranty expires.
The truck is experiencing electrical problems with the Check Engine Light. (3.5 V6 ECOboost engine)
This issue has been serviced by a Ford Dealership multiple times for the same issue. The Check Engine Light displays on the dashboard for several days. Ford service reports they get a wiring fault code. Each service appointment they run diagnostics, and reset the Check Engine Light then release the vehicle to the customer. After a few days the problem re-occurs. The number of service appointments to date are 7 with no fix. The last service performed for this issue was by the selling Ford dealership from 12/20/2013 to 1/3/2014 (14 days diagnostics).

The Ford Regional Representative was asked repeatedly to escalate the case for the manufacturer buy back program in compliance with state lemon laws. Ford refused and asked that the F150 be taken back to a Ford dealership for repairs until the problem is resolved. The Ford 3.5 V6 ECOboost engine is only getting 11 mpg during winter (Ford claims mpg of 17 city 22 highway) during warm season average mpg is 13.
