Problems have been experienced maybe 3 times since new. Seems to occur when accelerating to pass (throttle down). It's like a pop then dead engine power. Released off accelerator due to event shock. Re-engage pedal and truck operates normally. Almost like a backfire through intake manifold.

Backfire could be due to high humidity events and the intercooler slugging condensation into turbos. I am considering adding larger intercooler and catch can to solve the problem. Also decided to add catch cans to keep from feeding engine so much contaminated oil from PCV. I am sure this is coking my intake ports and well may be contributing to my back or mis-fire issue. I'll solve this without the help of Ford mechanics because they apparently could care less.

I talk to the Ford mechanics from multiple dealerships and they act as if they have never experienced this problem in other 2011 ECOboost engines, yet I see it all over YouTube and the internet.

Brake from Rotors: FMC OEM Trash, warped out at 28K miles. Inferior steel I suspect. Added quality aftermarket rotors to solve this concern. Common problem with all 2011 F150.

Transmission: I do not trust the Ford service recommendation for trans service at 100K miles so I service as I always have at 30K. Ford dealership mechanics advise to do the same yet Ford does not - strange. Come on Ford, you couldn't afford to include a trans dip stick in the engine compartment? I literally have to get under vehicle and cheek fluid level only 5" or so from the 2000 degree Cat? That is f'd up engineering.

Since I am out of warranty, i refuse to take my truck to Ford for service. Service techs (Planet Ford HouTX) literally suck and are mechanically ignorant.

Given all the above crap I still enjoy this truck & engine. Its more reliable than most and has never threatened to leave me stranded. Ecoboost makes for a fun drive, very spirited.
