I understand from other F150 owners whose trucks are within the same model year as mine that this is a timing chain and phaser issue that's causing the rattle noise on cold startups for which there was a TSB issued. However, I've never received this TSB nor did it come up when I've had the truck at the dealer for other service work. What is concerning is that Ford knew about this issue but failed to inform me leaving me to deal with an issue that should have been covered and rectified by Ford that will now cost me well into the 5 digits. Other than this type of irresponsible customer care, I really love the truck and the power it's provided until now.
