The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated that at start up, he heard a rattling sound coming from the hood of the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the timing chain and camshaft failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 180,000.
